    Ha ha
I spent 52 minutes on the phone to vodafone yesterday, trtying to get a return address. (And this was my fourth phone call. 3 separate people refused to give me one. Then I e-mailed saying if they didnt give me a return address within 24 hours I would send it to their registered office.
Then I got 2 replies giving 2 different addresses!!! (One in Reading, one in Newcastle)
So I would send it registered/recorded to their registered office and you've done all you need to

You were suggesting I give the OP an address and since I don't know where her account is - hence no crystal ball, I cannot give an address.

The OP asked for an address, and so far I am the only one to give her one.

You seem to know a lot about Voda - why not help out by giving all the addresses you know?

Saying ring up and get the address is hardly "advice"!

And telling anyone writing to a company's registered office regarding a legal matter is wrong is just completely bad advice, and should be ignored.

I don't have to do anything quentin since I am not in the office today.

Advising to ring them to get their correct address is advice. Advising them to send a letter to cancel an order - to the incorrect address is not very helpful.

A company's registered office is of course correct to write to regarding any matter, and especially so if the matter is a legal one.

The registered office is the company's address for formal communications. It is the company's duty to make sure all post sent to the registered office is dealt with.

what were you trying to return slopemaster? Phones come from the warehouse in Coventry but there are various depts scattered all over the country so it really does depend what it is you are returning so it goes straight to the right place.

ok things sent to HQ will EVENTUALLY end up in the right place, but like i said earlier a customer sent me something in October and I didn't receive it until 4 months later.

  • Hi - sorry to be the cause of so much debate! But I am grateful for all your contributions guys ... it's a new connection for my other half - I've been with VF for quite a few years (not that I feel any loyalty especially to them, although have been happy). Have had bad experiences with their call centres with no-one really sorting anything or giving me any real information - the eforum seems far more helpful and one of the guys there has said he will investigate. The handset was delivered today - and I rejected it immediately - so the courier will hopefully take it back to the warehouse. The letter is - as you say Quentin - belt and braces just to protect my OH so that they can't pretend we asked to cancel the contract outside the 14 day period. I always send such letters signed for - so again they can't claim they haven't received them. I'm on a deal I'm happy with - but dealt with the retentions dept after I'd asked for my migration code. I think if they were to give my OH a better deal, he would be tempted to stay with them. Big thanks to all.

    hi Pixelchick,

I'm glad you rejected the order. I have noticed that whoever mans the e-forum site answers questions pretty quickly don't they. did you find out which office holds your account?

Thinking about it, if you already have an account, the address is on the back of your bills - I would hazard a guess that it's going to be Banbury?

  • Hi Spirit,

I do already have an account but my other half rang up and ordered a new phone separately so his details aren't on mine.

Haven't found out where to send the letter to - long wait to speak to customer services then kept holding for more than 30 mins in the queue to the 14 day returns dept.

Think I will just send the letter to the Head Office just to cover myself - seeing as VF can't tell me where exactly to send it to and will put on outside '14 day cancellation of order'. Phewwww what a palava!

The e-site does seem better - although still waiting for them to reply in detail to me but at least they do acknowledge emails in a personal manner.

    Thanks for all your help.

I would think that your OH's contract is going to be the same address.

It's obviously up to you of course but if you send things to HQ, there isn't anyone there who is able to action any contents of your letter. All they will do is to find out where the account sits (and it's probably going to be Banbury) and forward it to them. Knowing them as I do, it is unlikely to be within those 14 days - like I say, someone sent me something at HQ address and it took 4 months to get to me.

Did you ask the e-forum people the address?

  • I haven't but I will post asking for it.

Not too worried if the 14 days dept dont get my letter till outside the 14 days as VF still will receive the letter well within it -- and I will send it recorded, so for legal purposes that covers me. And anyway my partner has emailed them several times to cancel the contract and they've acknowledged his email so they can't claim not to know we want to cancel!

The 14 days dept said that if I've rejected the phone at the doorstep then that order will be cancelled. I'm only sending the letter to double cover my back. Thanks again for yr help.
