Pleased to say our customers are rallying forth!!

They are signing the petition on r2rc websit like nobody's business. Some are going to follow the suggestion of writing to their MP and MEP's!! No one likes to have the choice taken from them - especially after being given the choice and the right to go to whatever garage you want for servicing!!

nobody will actually be bothered until they have to book thier car into the dealership instead of using independants. then they will come on here and sign the petition,but by then its too late.

I'm a grumpy old woman these days, I am sick of everyone moaning yet not doing anything about anything. What is it with the Brits that we sit back and go 'ok' or 'yeah alright' - whenever the government or whoever decides that they are going to up our tax, rates, or whatever..... Its getting beyond a joke.

And now, they again, are going to take more choices from us again. No doubt we'll all sit back and grumble under our breaths rather than do anything!! :mad: :mad:

Its not just the servicing under warranty at issue here tho. From what I understand, technical information can be held back, which means that if you have a fault with your car/vehicle, even if it is out of warranty - you could be forced back to the dealers.

If that is so, then they will have us all by the short and curlies and can charge whatever they like. At the moment, they are having to be competitive.

Believe it or not, I am not anti dealers, I do not want to see any of them close and people be out of work, but consumers should have the right to go where they want and pay a reasonable price for the service/repair/parts.
And independent garages should be allowed to obtain technicial information to be able to carry out repairs and service vehicles under warranty - in accordance etc. of course...
