Looks like YM and i are both up early:D .

I have to admit the first couple of months after bc i had withdrawal symptoms from not having my CC. It was a bit like a security blanket with me. Whilst it was in my purse i knew i was ok. I used to dread the food shop in case i never had enough cash to cover it. When using credit you seem to loose track of costs ect:o .Mind towards the end of my credit career, i did start to fear there was not enough credit on the card to cover the bill.

I am so careful now,my shopping has blue stripes on it now not silver labels:rotfl: .

I think you are doing so well SA,take my hat off to you.Dx

Good Morning guys ..... Working through the night... yuk! I haven't done that for a little while, the last times were the Supabowl and the Ricky Hatton fight from the US ... another one of those coming up - I expect I will be on duty.

I was in for the long haul yesterday - 9.00 in the morning until 10.30 at night ... and another 4 days of similar hours to come. I just keep thinking of the bank balance and this time next week it will be back to normal. At least I work with a happy crowd (mainly) and it is quite informal so doesn't seem quite so bad.

Day off today, a rescheduled appt with my counsellor (relief) and then waiting in for a new set of kitchen taps to be fitted. My old ones are giving up the ghost and my HA are replacing them (one of my daily postitives for today) - afterwards, off to do a bit of budget food shopping, I can see the slow cooker coming into use!

Thanks dalip for your kind words, sometimes I think to myself that it is a bore for you all.... my relentless drivel (and moans) .. but it does help to put it all down in words and after "down days" I look back and realise that it does pass and each time it doesn't seem to hit so hard. Thank heavens

Lensman, you do right having a few tenners put by. You never know what is going to spring up at any time. The only thing I would say is if you NEED sunglasses, buy them.. I spent a long time denying myself all sorts while I made sure other people were provided for and look where I ended up - with nowt. I am learning to look after myself and that includes the little treats that make life a bit more pleasurable.

Enjoy the spring weather everyone.... April tomorrow, where is 2009 going?

    Hugs to you all

One thing I did to relieve the credit card cravings was get a prepaid card. I kept it topped up with £50 or so and actually needed to use it in Sainsburys when I got to the til because I opened my purse and there was no money in it! It was a bit of a safety net. I haven't used it in months now but it did what it said on the tin.

    Hello SA

Glad you seem to be able to keep the overtime money. Reading what everybody else says, it seems a good idea not to say anything. You have a hard and long week ahead of you but hopefully the money at the end of it will help!

I love reading your diary, especially as you have up AND down days, just like me. Please do not apologize for 'moaning', you are expressing your true feelings and that is brave, not boring!

Keep on going, try to enjoy the sunshine and know that sharing your experiences helps others. When I read about the difficulties so many people on here have to go through, it makes me determined not to give up either.

Sending you best Spring wishes XX:j

    Hi everyone,

I have taken a few days off from posting for a number of reasons.....

    - a little bit of forum fatigue, I was getting goggle eyed!
    - crazy busy at work with the Grand National
    - away for a couple of days
    - forum closed over the weekend
    - and a slight case of the "blues" which I didn't want to drone on about again

Anyway, I am back and almost fighting fit. Only 2 and a half weeks to payday and like Amy Winehouse I will be "back to black" instead of zero. At least I can't go into the red anymore...... you can't spend what you haven't got, is engraved in my brain .....

I have worked enough overtime to pay me back the £300 that my car cost this month. I just hope that the MOT in June wont cause too many problems. I doubt it but you never know!

I am trying to do some sort of exercise everyday - gym, swimming, walking and of course my beloved horse riding when the finances allow. I have contacted the local ramblers group with a view to starting that. If someone had told me a year ago that I was going to start rambling (non-verbal) I would never have believed them. The only rambling I knew about was after a few too many drinks! Perhaps now I am the other side of 50 I am actually beginning to grow up..... :o BR must have jolted some sense into me.

I am working all over Easter but have got a couple of days off next week and a dinner out with my social club so that is something to look forward to. A haircut, new outfit, new frame of mind, and watch out world! Yeah right.... but I am getting there, slowly. I can actually manage to drink a glass of wine without reaching for the phone to call the ex, so things are improving!

I can't believe that it has been 3 months since my BR. The weeks seem to be flying by - I can't help wandering if I will get ED? Our annual bonus is paid at the end of August, so it is fingers crossed, or I could be handing some money over to the OR. Oh well, no use worrying about it.

I have managed to get the electric bill under some sort of control - I only have one storage heater on now and it has levelled out at about £8 a week which isn't too bad. It got a bit frightening earlier in the year when it went up to nearly £20 a week - for a flat the size of a large rabbit hutch!

I hope everyone is keeping well and looking forward to the Summer. Isn't it nice to have the lighter evenings and blue skies!

    That's about it for now....

    Ta Ta
