    Hi everyone,

Very little to report but I thought I had better rescue the thread before it drops off the bottom of the board! The forum is so busy now, pages of new threads on a daily basis, I wonder what the next quarter figures for BR cases will show for 2009..... a big increase, I suspect.

Everything is very much on hold at the moment until I get my discharge. My bills are accounted for in the SOA and I am just spending the time getting used to cash and not having plastic anymore, a good thing in many ways.
I am also a bit more relaxed about "what if" situations.... life is too short to worry about things that might happen, better to deal with them IF they crop up.

A lesson I have learnt is to have a rainy day fund in the future. As soon as I can I am going to start putting a bit by each month so that there is an emergency fund if I do need it.
I have also started to look at life in a more cost saving way.... looking to see if I can save anything by doing things differently, shopping, cooking, buying in bulk etc. Before, largely due to the hours I worked, I used to dash around the supermarket almost daily chucking things in the basket, including impulse buys, and then quite often never getting around to actually cooking
the stuff as I would be too tired! Wasting time, money and food!

My new self help book for depression has arrived. Unfortunately I am working every day until Wednesday so I haven't really got a chance to look at it until then. It looks good though and I am determined to make a real go of it. I am so determined for 2009 to be the start of better things.

Working this afternoon and all day tomorrow...... for those of you with a free weekend, enjoy ;) and for those like me that have to work.... make sure you don't overdo it!

    Best Wishes

    SA

    Hi SA.

Your recent posts seemed to have a subtle glow from the light at the end of the tunnel. It is good to see.

Yes, this board is much busier than Nov when I joined. That will change again if we become a board on our own. We should prepare for the onslaught of spam and trolls that DFW gets.

Doing some housework here. Spring cleaning the bedding at the moment. Which is nice. Coz I get 1/2 hour between washer and dryer cycles for a go on the xbox... LOL.

Let me know how you get on with the book. I might get a copy if its good.

    Have a good weekend.

    Thanks Jim,

It isn't all plain sailing.. more like 2 steps forward and 1 back but I am getting there. I actually wonder if it is easier or more difficult coping with everything when you are single? Depends on who you are with I suppose!

Life is brighter certainly, dealing with my debts was the real turning point and gave me the strength to sort some other baggage!

A huge thanks to you and the others, as always, at least there are people to turn to when I do need an ear to bend..... lol

It is easier to control spending when it is just yourself!! Just been to supermarket with the OH who got paid today! He had a list of about ten things and definitely did not stick to it!

Hope you are having a good day at work.

    Hi everyone,

6 days since my last post and my thread was buried on page 11  Found it though! I don't really have anything to report except that things are just ticking along. I went horse riding on Wednesday - the highlight of my week and I try and get to the gym or swimming pool as much as I can. Exercise is not only good for your physical health but does wonders for the mental side of things as well.
It is too easy to forget how poo things were pre-BR and how terrified I was each time the phone rang (I would literally jump) or be frightened to open my post - how different it is now. New posters should take note of this - it is so,so different after BR...... peaceful almost. Money is put aside each month and when bills arrive - they get paid... simple as.
Because it is so quiet I have to be careful that I don't get bored and go out spending like before, looking for highs. I try and find things to do that are free - going for a long walk or going to the stables early so that I can groom the horse.
I am thinking about doing some voluntary work - but it is hard trying to find a regular time slot to offer, so that is pending until we get longer days and perhaps some free time in the early morning or evenings.
I try and write down at least one positive thing that happens every day in my life. It may be something silly and trivial or it may be something really important but it helps me to focus on good things.
An example of this is that my BT bill is set up as a d/d where the whole bill is paid. Anyway the money has been saved and the bill arrived today but the d/d is not going to be drawn until 2nd April. This is after payday, so with one week to go until I get paid it has actually given me a bit of unexpected spare cash - whoopee! It is only £35 but it makes a big difference on the budget I have.
I suppose what I am trying to say is that I am looking at different ways to feel fulfilled - in the past I would jump on a plane 3 or 4 times a year and go visit where I used to live. I realise now that it was just a way of escaping or running away if you like and while it has been hard trying to forget it ( and him) I know it is for the best. Best kept as memories......
Have a great weekend everyone - the sun is shining, Spring is here.
My very best wishes to you all and hugs to my buddies..... especially the absent ones - ym, marlowvian, haley grey, Don79, to name but a few! ;)

    SA.

Today is the spring equinox. For the next 6 months, the days are longer than the nights. The sun was shining bright an warm. And the daffodils are a riot of bright yellow. A perfect day to be on this earth.

In that vein, your post is a welcome addition to it. Nice one and thanks.

    Hi SA,

You sound so calm & relaxed.....I may do what you say & write down one postive thing that happens every day....I`ll keep a diary of positives...rather than the relentless worry of the sh*t that seems to keep being thrown at me daily

    ....... now breathe Angel, breathe!!!!!

    Angex

Ps .Did`nt know it was spring equinox Lensman....very educational, thanks
