    Spudly,
I have been the most laziest person my whole life. And I am 39.

I had just had enough feeling fat and unhappy. At least with doing exercise I can eat and not worry too much. It makes you feel so much better-I am a much happier person for it. My family will tell you that!

It doens't need to be anything mad! Just walk...

I couldn't agree more with you Bunny...its good for the mind body and soul

Sally, I am still doing CD but not on sole source anymore....am now on 1,000 cals a day at the minute, although I did eat properly over the weekend..I didn't fancy collapsing in the Forest of Dean..

Had a good talk on nutrition actually over the weekend..I have now been given permission to eat jaffa cakes before a race and he also told me my leg problem after a run was probably due to not eating properly afterwards....

My problem is when I have done a fairly heavy run (my kind of heavy not marathon type of heavy) i don't feel hungry but he told me that I should eat something to replace the sugar I have lost.

  • Buffy,
I really have only started getting 'fit' since Nov-seriously since Jan.

I am doing the 'Couch to 5k' podcasts but I was telling Sammy today I think I could push myself more now so I am going to try some longer runs. At first, you really just have to make yourself do it, then you start to realise how good you feel after, then you want to do it all the time! I still have quite a bit of weight to lose but it will come off. And in the meantime, I feel better.

Good for you Bunny..sometimes its about acceptance and realising your insecurities are just that, yours. I go around thinking ah people must think this and that about me...when in fact they probably don't think anything about me.

You are doing great, keep doing what you're doing and smiling that beautiful smile :)

I'm 39 too, and it's like I have these 2 voices in my head. One saying how much better I'd feel if I got off my lazy fat arriss and did summat. The other saying, be careful you dont injure yourself, best sit down, chill out and dont raise a sweat :o

My other issue is that I'm really self conscious, and dread the thought of certain areas bouncing when they shouldnt. You'll see on Saturday
Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches

  • Right Spud,
My bottom shoogled something CHRONIC when I started. Doing a brisk 30 min walk 3-4 times a week will do wonders for you. Sitting on your bottom WILL hurt you in the end-being obsese (which is what I am still!) is the worst thing you can do for yourself.

Listen, what made me move was imagining my kids ending up fat. I am their role model-I have to be the best Mom I can be and that means being able to move and have fun in a healthy body and show them that exercise is good. bottom line.
