Yeah Ill try that, I'm fairly confident that my house is a B rating anyway, but all of the rating sites dont supply all the relavent U values for my house as is timber frame built to the better end of regs..they are still too far behind. There are three types of people in this world...those that can count ...and those that can't!

Paintz, the Ecodan has its own controller for seting it up, it has a flow temperature controller for receiving normal 240 volt signal from standard room stats, flexible connections, flow setter valve, isolating valves all as the Kit price of £2,300, Cylinder is £900 complete with all safety features including MV, the whole system connects to standard S plan system....this is my Job its what I do all day...There are three types of people in this world...those that can count ...and those that can't!

Actually that comparison is not possible with i-measure. It only allows you to compare to gas/elect households OR same number of occupants, not both. Actually I find their whole comparison system a bit useless. We're now just exiting the heating season; I've been dilligently adding my bit to the i-measure database for the last 3 months. (www.i-measure.org allows you to input your weekly gas/elec consumption and compare your usage to others)
I use ashp exclusively for space heating, and mains gas for dhw
My home is rated as a 'B' on the Monthly Carbon Rating Scale. This means that I generate 40% less than other users in comparable dwellings. (3 bed semi / 4 occupants / gas & elec).
I'd hazard a guess that most of the contributors to i-measure do not have a brand new heating system. That's probably the answer rather than anything specifically to do with air source heat pumps.I'll hazard a guess that all contributers to i-measure (those that I'm being compared to) will be already undertaking some sort of energy saving measures - they're obviously engaged by the concept or they wouldn't be members.
So I can confidently attribute my 'B' rating, my 40% less than average, to using ASHP for my space heating requirements.0 -
Albyota.
That is a great price for that unit is it that cheap due to you fitting them all day. I mean if you did this all day what would you charge a customer??0 -

My Faux Pas Mech and apologies to albyota; altering your prime heating source on the user panel has no effect on the households you are being compared to. As Mech says, you can alter heating source OR number of occupants for comparison, but not both.
Not perfect, but better than anecdotal forum-speak.0
