How our system works

Don't annoy me you diss me and then ask this stuff.
It can use any ashp air to water. it is the controls and pipework around the cylinder that is the key. It defies plumbing logic which is why you probably said what you said. We have used the trianco 5kw with it, the wharf 11.9 and we now have a third one which is better with a 5 year parts and labour warranty with a 48 hour direct replacement if it breaksdown.
I know the likes of mitsu, daikin, sanyo have them but what is the cost of just the ashp???? work out the capital cost before rads or ufh.
then come back to me0 -
Mech,
I have seen nothing to persuade me that an ASHP system will, on average, have lower running costs for CH and HW than gas.
We're now just exiting the heating season; I've been dilligently adding my bit to the i-measure database for the last 3 months. (www.i-measure.org allows you to input your weekly gas/elec consumption and compare your usage to others)
I use ashp exclusively for space heating, and mains gas for dhw
My home is rated as a 'B' on the Monthly Carbon Rating Scale. This means that I generate 40% less than other users in comparable dwellings. (3 bed semi / 4 occupants / gas & elec).
40% is A LOT less than average. I'm not some hardned tree hugging beardie with 1 lightbulb who never comes home, I have a warm and indulgant household.
I applied the philosophy 'use it, don't waste it' and started on a path of upgrading my house so's I can have my energy cake and eat it.
Aaah cake... how I got the family on board.
I said 'Look, for every £25 a week we save on our energy bills we'll shop at Waitrose not Tesco's, and ye shall have good cake'. And there was compliance. And it negates the argument that we'll just blow the carbon saving on a holiday.
I'll hazard a guess that all contributers to i-measure (those that I'm being compared to) will be already undertaking some sort of energy saving measures - they're obviously engaged by the concept or they wouldn't be members.
So I can confidently attribute my 'B' rating, my 40% less than average, to using ASHP for my space heating requirements.0 -

I have been in the industry for years, I am aware of what products are in circulation, how you explained your system does not sound any different, I was refering to the amount of motorized valves and the complicated way of controlling the system.!There are three types of people in this world...those that can count ...and those that can't!

Yeah I pitched in with the Gas & Electric Households which I consider fair enough as I have access to mains gas.stevehead I am also an imeasure candidate, only just got the 4th reading on today, ill check to see what my rating is, difficult to compare against, all electric but ASHP Boiler.
You should toggle between both 'All Electric' and 'Gas & Electric' to get a feel for how you're doing on i-measure.0 -
Sorry dislecsic , (Its albyota),
