    Evening everyone.

Went all the way to the sorting office and my letter wasnt there. Its in the system somewhere they said. Left my phone number and message this evening says it hasnt turned up yet. They will ring tomorrow. I dont even know what it could be that needs a signature.

Went to see mum and she was fine. Appear to have a problem with her cigs again. When we left on friday there was a packet of 20 but only 7 in today. I know its mostly when we are there that she gets a smoke. Had this problem before and spoke to the manager. What we are going to do is just leave enough for the days we are not there.

Got home earlier than usual so got my flying done.

And do you honestly think they've read James Joyce Ulysses?? I think I gave up on about page five

I've read it... one of the funniest books I've ever read :D ... and I've also read quite a bit of Finnegan's Wake, but it needs to be read in small chunks or it fries my brain...

... I also read Georgette Heyer and !!!!!! Francis... so it's not like I'm trying to impress anyone :p

    Hex - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Toots - glad you had a lovely day

Pigpen - good to see you've had a productive day... does having someone to help make it easier!

soappie - I think you need to do your readings for a couple of weeks, make a note of things like whether it was particularly hot or cold, what you know has/hasn't been used and the times the heating/hot water has been on. You can then either ask them whether they have any idea as to why the usage has been so high, or say that you're not happy that they've been decieving you about it. I know you say that they can't afford to live anywhere else, but you can't afford to subsidise them. Maybe if they realise that the options are to a. live by your rules in your house, b. pay their way in your house or c. try to pay their way living independently they might get their act together. And while you're at it, you can also tell them that either they do their share of the housework in the shared areas or they contribute to the cost of a cleaner!

Have made both my important phone calls... left a message for the cake decorating place, and the tree surgeon's office has promised to re-send the invoice!

    Dinner and pancakes done.

Boddy - that is sad about your Mum's cigs but I'm glad she is ok
Soappie - tough one with the heating and I'm sorry I can't think of any advise

Alarm was going off when I got home from school - I've had to disconnect the power, not sure what is wrong but OH can look at it when he gets home.

Feeling really tired and bored so think I'll have an early night later. Time to run DS3 bath.

I'm just watching last night's WDYTYA on bbc2, seeing as lots of you seem to like it i thought I may as well.

serena - think it's a slightly different list. DH has read Ulysees, I haven't though!
soappie - i agree with Greenbee. Know it's difficult though cos you love them and yet you don't want to be taken advantage of. It's not even all that cold today - I was in all morning with no heating on and the windows open!
kazwookie- I don't think you'll be able to work it out as it's all complicated because of P11ds etc. seems like my current code has also been wrong as they've assumed (despite a p11d for 07-08 being submitted ages ago) that I am still in my old job (i left last Jan) and therefore still receiving what they deem to be a taxable benefit (which we dispute it even was but that's another story!). DIdn't know you were an accountant (if you are!!)

We had stir fry for dinner and don't think we'll bother with pancakes. Not great for the diet!

    Pancakes flipped and eaten.

rach no I am not a qualified accountant, but I do run the payroll / do the accounts at work. hence the reason HM sent out new disk for the new tax year 09/10 and on this disk it has the new code add ons.

Carlberggal, nice to see you on here again - have you tried any alternative therapies for your elbow? Magnets are particularly good, i think mudbath tried them on her wrist and found them helpful.
