Caught up!
:bdaycake:Happy birthday hex!:bdaycake:
Rose Zepherine Drouhin (sp???) a possibility?
rach and dusty - if the list is the BBC one, then I've read 59 - there are a lot of Terry Pratchett aren't there? It reflects ones that have been serialised or filmed, I noticed, and there are some notable omissions - I can't believe that no-one listed Georgette Heyer or !!!!!! Francis for example - or were they just trying to impress?? And do you honestly think they've read James Joyce Ulysses?? I think I gave up on about page five...(and only started it because someone I fancied at uni recommended it;))
Hugs Polly.
Also hugs to those poorly flyladies. real sympathy for those that have taken tumbles - I fell off the bottom step at school yesterday and landed on all fours in front of a group of year 7's - only hurt my dignity though!!
Must go cook dinner...It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
I need to do a HHC 6.15 - 6.45 anyone?NST #10 Steps 7K 2/30 10K 2/12 5 a day 3/30 NSD 0/20

Embb, sounds like you needed the sleep so don't beat yourself up too much. We all need to rest sometimes, can't keep on the go forever! I've just got up from my nap and had tea, an amalgamation of leftovers so it was completely free!
AnW's mum, thanks for the chart, I understand now!
All I have done today is washing up. Watched the first half of Vera Drake and slept! Have been trying to get the S key to stay on the keyboard all day. Made the mistake of taking it off to clean under it. Never doing that again. According to my Dad, PCworld and Staples sell special kits to clean the keyboard with. Don't know how much they are, but soundslike a good idea as the keys are awful at the mo.
Am still catching up with the thread now"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

Evening everyone
Hex - happy birthday !
Nicki - glucosamine tablets (cheapest you can find) work wonders for aches and pains - you'll notice a difference within a month of taking them.
Likklegibbon - how did your Dad get on?
AnW'sMum - well done on the ironing! And thanks for the explanation on the SWs!
Rach - well done on the tax rebate!
Mudders - glad you're able to work again
Dusty - hugs - I know how you feel ! I think it's the other people in the house that do the cluttering
Carlsberggal - as I mentioned to Nicki (and this is not medical advice by the way, it's my experience) try glucosamine sulphate tabs. I had a tricky hip and a dodgy knee and within a couple of weeks of popping one a night, I've not had any hip issues since and my knee doesn't play up a quarter as often. I see Toots has already mentioned that. The ones I get are glucosamine with cod liver oil
Toots - glad you had a nice lunch. The unexpected invites are always the best aren't they?
Brain aching day at work today so I'm a bit worn out mentally. But it made the time go quickly. I was playing away with a computer system and something went wrong. Then it sorted itself out. Then it went wrong again. Most baffling. Gathered the evidence and presented it to the developers. Then something else went wrong and I couldn't work out why.... so oodles of investigation and evidence gathering again, trying to work out what I'd done and how I'd done it. I shall sleep well tonight!
Ooooh and did my meter readings this evening. I thought the place was warm when I got home but the gas thermo was where I'd left it. However, the gas meter reading tells the true story. It's the highest it's been since I've started taking them. Guess who was home all day today? Oh yes, it's DiL. She's clearly not used the TD though because the leccy's only just above average.
How do I deal with this oh Wise Ones? The TD, I can remove the fuse or throw it out all together. But the heating? Do I REALLY have to go down the route of putting the thermo and the controls in a sealed box to which only I have the key?
Hey ho. I'll be the wicked MiL at the end of the day whatever I do....
But off to make pancake batter and chicken stock and clean the kitchen floor whilst they're resting/cooking.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

well my day went a bit pear shaped but in a nice way for a change - i was just about to go off to town when a lovely friend phoned to say she was in town and would I like to meet her and go for an early lunch - as she hasnt been very well with depression I was delighted she felt up to being out and so we went to Dobbies nad had a lovely lunch and a chat bfore she went home!
yes honey we try to be. Its also another reason that we try not to chat because there are a lot of people joining and asking questions so if we keep the chat down the newcomers can see answers to their questions without having to trawl through pages!IYSWIM! Hope you are feeling a bit better after a more leisurely day and you have sorted out the damp stuff. Maybe you overdid it yesterday.
I will try not to chat so much I promise! I love it on here but I think I do talk too much. I do feel a bit better thanks, still tired but happier
Mudbath, well done with your first day back at work. After a week you will wonder why you were so keen to be back there! I thought it was funny about the little boy and the chocolate cake :rotfl:"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

And I've just been told that neither of the other occupants of the house need dinner because they're going out. And no, they don't want pancakes because DiL made some earlier.
I shall just have a great big plate of pancakes to myself and something other than chicken soup for dinner. Not quite sure what yet, but it'll be fantastic!

Spag bol made and eaten washed up
Hoovered round
Put out the rubish bin
Sorted out step mother who is 'arranging' my father's birthday party next month, she has done my head in over it, so today I have made her a check list of things to do and stuck it on a large strong piece of cardboard, so she cannot put it in her hand bag and it vanish in the muddle in there, she has one of the huge handbags and can never find anything!!!
So on Saturday when I travel to see her, I can organise her!!

Toots - I did do a hhc but my computer froze! I did a washing load, cleaned the filter on the tumble dryer, sorted out the recycling, put the kitchen waste in the compost bin, checked garden for dog poops (sorry if you're eating your dinner!!) and helped dd with her piano practise....not bad if I say so myself.
Rosepink - i'm one of the few lucky ones who loves their job and works for themselves so I just take the odd day off when I need to recuperate, work the hours I want and don't get to the stage where I wish I wasn't working - very lucky I know!!
Time to make pancakes!
Happy birthday Hex xxxxxxx0
