Reserved 2 at Cortonwood near Barnsley - won't honour it. Rang CS (only 5 minute wait), said tough, price you pay is price instore.
Accused them of misleading advertising - said pricing error, price is £23.99.
Said off to Trading Standards, she said, ok.
Looks like I've got to put my money where my mouth is (only £14.99 though).

I am going to have another pop at the manager though with evidence of the prices advertised.

We rang and reserved at Festival Park Stoke-on-Trent at £14.99.

Husband went in to pay at the quick pay counter item said £23.99.

He then went to till who also said it is £23.99.

Ref to supervisor who reluctantly agreed to give at lower price as she said they had a pricing error in store and it should have come up as £14.99 (don't know if this just applied to reserved items or not).

I reserved a copy on Thursday for pick up at the Newtownards branch. When I went last night to collect - having checked the internet to see if the price was still £14.99 (I printed it out) - they wouldn't budge from the £23.99 price. I spoke to the manager and pointed out I had made a special trip etc and she muttered something about a memo from head office about this product and went off to check it out.

The end result was Head Office had sent out a warning to the stores about the price change and that they weren't to sell it for £14.99.

Not happy with argos at all - I appreciate that the price on the day is the price you pay but the price on that day on the internet was £14.99!!! Arghgh!!

Argued with lady in store said it was misleading etc. and that I had spoke to woman at CS and she said that if I brought in printout of page then they would have to oblige.

I was met halfway by the manager who agreed to sell it to me for the 14.99 price and the delivery charge that I would have had to pay if bought off internet which was 3.95, so paid 18.94 in end which wasn't bad. Think it was cause I was on crutches as well!

Result for all the MSE's!!!

I got one for 14.99 at Bangor last night, don't know if they have any more stock.

I just showed the manager my printout, and he muttered a bit and then gave it to me at the discounted price.

Just arrived back from the Leeds Colton store empty handed. They would not sell it at £14.99. Phoned customer services, who stated that when you reserve it, it does say in the small print that the price you pay is the price in store. You are not reserving the price, only the item. Not much I could say to that!

Reserved mine online at £14.99, drove to store and manageress refused to sell it for that price saying it had gone up to £23.99.

got nowhere with her, she refused to budge 1 inch.

phoned customer services.... they said it was up to the manager to decide, but acknowledged it at £14.99 on her system.

phoned Head office to complain.... they said there was a disclaimer saying that .. the price was not guaranteed due to time taken to update the website etc etc.. they said it had gone up to £23.99.

just checked again...site says £14.99 at 15.45pm
