I reserved 1 of these at East Dereham (Norfolk) on Friday - and don't want it anymore! If you want the reserve code - reply soon - as it runs out Monday evening!
Not sure if they will honour it - although Paulie mentioneed earlier in this thread that they did for her!0 -

We talking about the same thing?
The Star Wars DVD was never at £9.99 so I'm very surprised you got it at that price.0 -
Don't know if they have a keyword scanner on their email page, but I have just composed a mail which returns an error if sent, but if I just write 'Test' as my email it is successfully sent. ???
Here's the email:
'On Saturday at around 9.00 am. I reserved two copies of the Star Wars trilogy via the website at a price of £14.99 each.
I promptly drove to the store and went to collect my items and was told by the Manageress they would not be able to sell it at this price and they were in fact £23.99 each.
I drove home, really angry that the Argos website can get away with false advertising and checked the price again. It clearly showed £14.99.
From your own website I have seen this:
"How can I check latest prices?
We're always lowering our catalogue prices and running special offers. With so many great deals, you might find that many items are cheaper than you thought! Luckily, argos.co.uk always has the latest prices. Wherever you see a price advertised on this website, you can be sure it is the latest price available."
Note the "you can be sure it is the latest price available." line!!!
Not only did I waste time and petrol (20 mile round trip), but my two sons were extremely dissapointed in not getting Star Wars, as I refused to be tricked into paying more than the advertised price.
I thought I would email you first. Depending on a satisfactory response or not, I am tempted to take this up with Watchdog and ASA.'
Hmmmm >:(0 -
Just as a happy note to end on, and to be quite honest the weirdest purchase experience i've ever had...
I reserved one at the burton upon trent store, printed off the web price, took it in and queried it with customer service. The girl said she'd do it for that price and went off to get authorisation. put it through the till, wicked - i got it!!!
But ahaahhhhh. After 25 minutes of looking they admited that they could not find it. The co-ordinator told me to go and buy it elsewhere bring him the reciept and he would refund me the £15 i'd paid them and the difference from the reciept for the other store so that i only paid £15 there. Finding this all a bit bizzare i did it, and yes indeed they refunded me the argos money and then gave me £19 cash to compensate for the price i paid in WH smiths. Thanks argos - sorry others didnt get this good service.
(Also the burton branch has loads of the Walkman net MD's for £19.75 reduced from £120
now thats a bargain0 -

Ermmmm,if you read my post it mentions the Matchbox Hero Cities and NOT the Star Wars thingy.Alright,I'm aware this thread relates to the Star Wars thingy but I merely posted to give people an example of how Argos decisions can vary store by store so that people could at least try another store if they aren't successful. Argos store managers are far from consistent in my opinion!!0 -
Anyone complained to watchdog?0
-
Argos emailed me after the complaint that the price you pay is the price instore bla bla bla
Argos really should come to the party
We need to go to watchdog or something to bring them to justice!
Whos with me!! ;D
