Dastardly Dachshunds-another DFW Diary

Haven't been around for a while as have had an awful flare up which has left me breathless and in a lot of pain, but the GP has been fantastic and I'm now enjoying all the colours my new pain tablets are giving me

OH received a letter from B'card, giving her a reference number to quote for the BT from my card to hers. I've asked her to wait just a little longer as she has a small amount on there still, which I don't want added to my debt. She is hoping to pay that off in the next couple of weeks and then we'll sort out the BT.
Today I also received a letter from the evil  card about my PPI complaint. It's only been 3 weeks since I first sent the MSE template letter, so I'm amazed. They have looked at the information available to them and, as I'm a valued customer (:rotfl:), they have decided to pay me an amount which will put me back in the position I would have been if I hadn't taken out the insurance! No admission of liability blah blah, full and final settlement blah blah (and to think that the dachshunds nearly ate the letter as it came through the letter box )
I'm gobsmacked :silenced:. the fact that they are considering paying back ANY money is unbelievable. Of course I don't know what the amount will be yet, that letter will aparently come shortly, but I'm still utterly speechless.

well done for getting your ppi back, that's got to help, are they going to knock it off what you owe (assuming the loan is still outstanding)
sorry not been around much, tried to not spend so much time online as was living on here and not in real life if you know what i mean.0 -
OMG , I just read my last post but one, I must have been off my face on painkillers lol. What was I on about? A footstool!!! :rotfl:
I did do an Ikea order but only for the memory foam pillow I really need. It was supposed to arrive on Friday but didn’t turn up, so I’ll give them a few more days before I start moaning at them.
On the MSE front I still haven’t heard from Halifax about the PPI repayment. This is starting to annoy me but I will wait for 14 working days from their last letter, due up on 26th March, until I complain again, which I think is reasonable. BTW the peeps on the PPI reclaiming thread are gods and I bow down to them. Also got the DFD down another month way hey!!
My TopCashBack account is now up to £100. I’m so amazed at how easy it is. This is my Xmas fund now as it pays more than a savings account.
So, after 3 months of pain, I finally feel like I’m coming out of a very long, dark tunnel. My GPs have been excellent, while my rheumatologist and nurse specialist have been carp! Today is the first day I have felt able to actually do more than flick a duster around the place. I was up bright and early, took the dogs for a walk (there is very little in this world better than watching a dog run around on the beach just for the pure fun of it, apart, perhaps, from a little person doing the same), came back and had a lie down, then up and pottered in the garden. I am pooped but really happy to be feeling more myself at last _party_.
The last couple of weeks I have slowly managed to rearrange the living room, basically so I don’t feel the need to buy more things, like a footstool! It looks cool. I’m kinda proud of myself. I have also decided to do a dachshund themed room-scary  for OH as she doesn’t know what room I have in mind. She reads this diary so, moahaha I’m not saying lol. Found a couple of postcards of dachshunds on eBay, which I have purchased. These will look cool in some cheap, black Wilko frames. I have also found some David Hockney pics of his two dachies which are begging to be framed. I luuuurve Hockney. He is one of my fave fave fave artists apart from Miro, oh and Giotto.
At some point, I must write down the tale of ‘Edie The Brave’. It’s a story of courage, hope, betrayal and finally triumph over adversity. It’s a Pullizer prize winner to be sure!!!
Hi Lemon tree, :hello: oh do I know what you mean. MSE has taken over my life. Hope you're okay?
I'm presuming evil  card will knock it off the outstanding amount, which will be nice. I'm just waiting to see if they give me an amount with contractural interest added instead of just 8% as this is something the bods on the PPI thread have suggested I need to look out for.

glad you're feeling better at the moment. I wasn't online much this weekend as it was just too nice to be indoors. managed to do lots of things in the garden and have lots of veggie seeds in trays.
still hoping i can find a dachie who just mysteriously wonders into my garden and i can keep, but it's not happening yet.0 -
Even in Cumbria the sun doth shine

Today I planted out some of the free bulbs we received a couple of months ago-yay free plants. I used to grow veggies in our last garden (potatoes, garlic, carrots, tomatoes etc) but I've had to give it up really as I'm just about up to a bit of hoe hoe hoeing and that's it. I might give the old garlic a go next year though as they were so easy and tasted divine. Will just have to scrounge some pots from neighbours or freecycle.
Absolutely pooped today, but saving myself up for tomorrow when we 're planning a trip into Carlisle to 'do' Asda and the business parks ARRRGGH.
Not much on the MSE front, just a little win on bingo, free scratchie (3 flapping fish), checking the evil  card (in case Halifax have decided to pay it all off
) and using stuff up in the freezer.
Dachys up half the blooming night'cos of the light mornings-driving me mad. Trouble is, when you wake up or if you've been outside to put something in the bin, they greet you as if they haven't seen you in an age, and your heart melts!!!

Hi Cydney
Another lurker here drawn in by the tales of dashing dawgs - I too am feeling broody for another dog. The pictures on this diary are fabulous. :T
The light mornings are causing problems here too. Yesterday morning, a bird decided to break the dawn chorus, and let loose at 3.30 am with a charming song. Sadly it was followed by the bird equivalent of "Shut up you stupid tweeter", and all was then quiet until 5am as normal.
The three flapping fishies made me howl with laughter. I have actually had a fiver from the scratchies once, but other than that, it's been a plague of fishies all round. Still, at least they're not dead and acting as dog eau de parfum.0 -
Lol at the doggy eau de parfume, that's my Edie!
Had some damn blackbird singing merrily away at 3.27am-Edie HATES blackbirds with a passion. Cue mad dash to door with frantic barking (our neighbours, fortunately take very, very strong sedatives so tolerate our nocturnal goings on), a squat and crock (Edie hasn't made up her mind yet as to whether she is Eddy or Edie so she often does both lol) and then back to bed. Half hour later the little blighter is still chirping merrily away, so Lucy has to investigate. Twenty minutes later Onyx has to have a wee (she's deaf so the irritating blackbird wasn't to blame for this one).
At 7.48am I finally cracked. I stomped out of bed, went to the back door, opened it and...the blackbird flew away! :rotfl: I didn't get to give it a piece of my mind. How sad am I?
Must find more photos. I'm also waiting for another doggy to come wandering into the garden, looking for a new home but I think 4 dogs and Cydney da kitty is a bit more than I can cope with.

I have taken more photos of the dogs-it's a hard job but someone has to do it.
Onyx looking cute. I can't believe she's nearly 13.
Lucy waiting for a lap and a blanket.
Edie doing what she does best.

lovely photo's again.
i'm also sick and tired of those bloomin fish, i wish it would just say you've won 10p after you uncover the bottom right hand square cos that one always tells you what you'll win, and it's tedious to do the scratching bit when you know it's only for 10p0 -
You're kidding me Lemon Tree...seriously, the bottom right square???? But thats the one I always start with-OCD moi?
Gonna have to keep my eye on that.
OH gave up on scratchies 'cos she couldn't change her card details, (after they were 'stolen') without giving them to customer service on phone or via email. She still manages to win on other bingo sites though, jammy woman
.
