Asda are doing chickens for £2 each this week not sure when it is on to though - It is a fair size and not the value one.
There is no way i would consider buying any of these £2.00 chickens again for ethical reasons. i would rather eat no meat. I never buy cheap meat and do not think that £2 chickens should be sold. I think it is terrible to think that a poor little old chickens life is only worth £2.00 and that saddens me beyond belief. I would rather spend £10 on a marks and spencer chicken knowing that I was playing no part in encouraging these shops to sell these unfortunate chickens who are full of fattening products and have no taste and full of water. I shall be boycotting these chickens and not buying any i shall be sticking to my usual free range ones.2010 - Goals

2. Planning to clear my credit card debt.

People are allowed freedom of choice to buy what they feel happy buying, a long as its what you would buy of course.
Obviously you havent seen the C4 pogrammes about chicken welfare recently.
I have, and i need to watch my spending as much as the next person ut i have traded up where possible and whist i didnt think it would make much difference, the improved taste and quality was clear to all.
I totally agree with you i watched the programme and since that day have never bought cheap chicken i would rather go without2010 - Goals

It was on a program a couple of weeks ago that the cheapest a farmer can sell a chicken at the very basic just legal rules is 3pound something. The supermarkets are maknig a loss but see it as you will buy more stuff once you buy the chicken.
I am not veggie but for the sake of what this animal has had to be put through to make it at this very low value that you do NOT buy this chicken.
Ok i know this is a money saving forum but you have to draw the line somewhere don't you.0 -
