dmv- well done on looking after yourself - clearly you did the right thing with the chocolate. The thing is, this weight loss journey is about life long plan to keep weight off within the ups and downs of life - so that sort of thing is as much about learning how to maintain (another whole journey in itself) and when to focus a bit more.
Ditto sary really - I think menu planning takes a lot of focus sometimes and you have to put your energies elsewhere at the mo: seting up home with your OH is such positive news and as you say, you are being especially active at the mo so hopefully going with the flow won't see much damage with the weight.
STS for me this week raph. Quite happy with that - I mean obviously I would have liked a loss, but I find weight loss doesn't go in a straight downward curve and fafter 3 weeks of losing, a sts if fine, especially as I have had a few extra carbs the last 2 days for various reasons. But on the positive front, it is now 3.5 weeks since I got a grip and got myself back 'on plan'. I've lost 4 lbs, and more importantly, stopped the endless upward creep of my weight. I no longer have to undo my top button on my trousers in the evening; I've done 3 pilates lessona and been swimming once.
So happy with that and feel very focussed still.
Another beautiful sunny day here at the mo and I don't what I shall be doing today, as don't work on a wednesday and no mosaic class. I'll let you know when I do.
andy -I didn't look at your exercise links query becasue i so wouldn't have a clue - hopefully those that do (aka missy:D) will be along in due course.
welcome unknown3rd - are you going to join our merry band of hopefuls?
Marion - when you have a mo (I know you have visitors at the mo) I don't suppose you could check the syn value of the following for, pretty please:D
kcals per 100g: 197
protein:4
carb:32.8
fat 5.5
portion size 70gI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Am reporting a sts please raph. Am definitely happy with that after this week. strange and scary thing happened yesterday. Over the last couple of days the dog has been a bit restless, and I have noticed both the front and back garden gates have been wide open at times. Its been very windy so I put it down to us not closing them properly. At about 9pm last night I realised the dustbin was open and there was some rubbish about, which freaked me out a bit so I made sure I put the lock/catches on the gates so you would have to actually lean over to open them and I would know it wasnt the wind. Then just when I got off here the dog went ballistic snarling (she never does that) at the door so I opened it at the same time as the gate slammed and she threw herself at it growling! The gate was unlocked and one of the dog towels was gone so someones been coming in and out of our garden! Have brought everything (dog towels, leads etc) in but feel very strange. Going through bins and stealing towels is clearly someone who is homeless? So I feel very bad, but I somehow need to stop it or one day if the gates open the dog will get out. I'm thinking maybe I should report it? If the dog attacks (dont think she would know how!) someone in the garden I would surely then be covered. Also if she got out and had an accident because of it, it would ensure the pet insurance paid as it wasn't our fault? Feel very strange now.0

Morning all!
Andyslinz I'm afraid I'm not the best person to consult about exercise/training plans - as I've never followed one in my lifeThere are others on MSE who will be able to help you much more with this sort of thing.
All I would say is take care not to overdo it, and don't let any training plan overrule your better judgement
I think you're absolutely right to not worry too much about your time on the day. You'll want to remember it, and it will be far easier to take everything in along the way if you go at a comfortable pace rather than flat out.
The event, and all your training you do for it, is supposed to be fun so make every effort to enjoy it
Sary - very sensible about eating according to your needs atm - sounds like you need all the strength and energy you can get!
BB - your results lately have been fab :j As you know I'm all for looking at results over 4 weeks or so, rather than any one week in isolation. Congrats!
Good luck to everyone still to weigh in this week!0 -
dropped 3 1/4 lbs this week
have not been over eating but have not been exercising  so will do better over the next week.
I am getting measured for my wedding dress in the middle of August so not much time left now to slim down a bit."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
I forgot to say well done to all losers, and a great turn around for you BB. You were saying you nearly moved into the next stone barrier, was that from your goal weight or do you still have a fair bit to lose? Does everyones goal weights roughly coincide with their bmi "healthy weights"? Just thinking I would be quite happy to be a size 12 all over, but as I'm short I think my bmi would have me at a tiny dress size.0
-
DMV - your goal is personal to you, so if a size 12 is what would make you happy take no notice of the BMI! I can't imagine a size 12 would be 'unhealthy' by any stretch of the imagination.0

My mum spoke to her neighbour and he said he would like to live where I do, as he almost exchanged with someone in this building before but as that person was a junkie, the council wouldn't let the exchange go through. This actually might happen!! I might actually get my own chuffin' house with a big garden. You know it's sad but It's what I've always wanted and noway we could afford to rent privately for that sort of house as up in Aberdeen you are looking at over £1000 a month, that's like a mortgage!!
So, I'm going up this week at some point to view his house (I don't even care if it's flowery walls and scabby flooring cause hey, I can decorate to my flavour) and hopefully he sees the same when he sees my yoghurt stained carpets and cat fluff everywhere!
So I'm away to start gutting this house, sorting all the cupboards etc, cleaning everything just so when he comes to view it looks good, and I best go get some grout and stick the tiles on the bathroom wall that fell off.
SOOOOOO EXCITED, though I don't wanna get my hopes up TOO much. But fingers crossed crossed crossed.0 -
well done pet!0

My starting weight 2 yrs ago was 13st5lb which just tipped me into the obese category bmi wise:eek:) I reached 11 stone xmas 07, which I was thrilled with, at a very comfortable size 14 and bmi of 24.8 -quite happy with that. I was then very ill xmas 07 - feb 08 and my jaw seized shut by arthritis and (fortunately) my appetite went , so I dropped to 10st 7, which was great size wise but I knew that was no way I could keep that up when back to eating healthily (i.e. eating) so last year I was waiting to see where my natural balance fell. But of course, I let my plan slip and slowly I put weight on beyond that. I think 11 -11st 2 would be achievable, so I regard myself as having put a stone back on by seeing 12 stone on the scales 3.5 weeks ago. So I am now 11st 10 and would be thrilled to get back to 11 st 1 which just puts me in the healthy bmi weight and my gp is more than happy with. I am not prepared to go hungry or live on ryvita and cottage cheese to achieve that.I believe strongly in enjoying my food in a healthy way.
So I think bmi can be a useful guide, but definitely not an absolute must. I have a fit and healthy friend with a good figure, but her bmi still considers her overweight. She isn't, nor does her gp think so.
I agree with missy - go with what you feel happy with and that is not going to kill you to maintain.
I did post a couple of before and after pics last year - I might try and dig them out...
It is such a nice nice, trying to encourage myself to go for a walk...
Victory - meant to ask - how do you feel now about not seeing your name on the chart. I know it must have been very odd at first. I know I felrt ridiculously emotional when my name moved from the main chart to the maintainers. Felt a bit lonely and lot at first:o
Hey: shelovestobuy - 3.25 lb loss is brilliant :T:T:j let's see some self congratulations too rather than ' must do better'!!:D
Buttonmoon - absolutely everything crossed for you: go for it with the clear up: tart up decor where you can, like with the grouting, but don't worry too much about any redecorating, as I am sure they will have their own taste and ideas.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Well done on your stone Petcorner
