  • There are 2 others and they just need to sell one before before building starts. This is the very last phase of the development - 130 houses have already gone up in the last 2 years.

    As soon as they are built, won't they go up in value?

    Definitely don't go in anywhere near their asking price. It doesn't harm you to go in a lot lower, and chances are it will save you many k's off your price so it's well worth being cheeky. Without knowing the area it's hard to say, but in the current climate it's very unlikely that they will shoot up in value, or even climb at all.
  • Offer 120k maybe with carpets?
  • Put the reservation fee in on mine today - £55K less than asking price and got stamp duty paid so pretty happy.

    Always pays to be a bit cheeky and ask for what you want, not what they tell you you want!
    Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!
  • Our mortgage was worked on a 75/25 but apparently the developer cannot do it and can only do a 85/15 which doesn't "fit" according to the mortgage people.

    The developer has today sold another 2 properties, allegedly. I don't know why I've let my partner do the work on this but developer doesn't seem to be wanting to lower the price to make it "fit" for us.

    I am going to take over now myself and offer 15k below asking price to make it "fit" and if it is not accepted, walk away.

    Any thoughts anyone?
