  • For everyone cleaning on all fours - don't neglect your knees or you will regret it later! (there speaks the voice of experience!) I keep one pair of gardening knee pads just for household jobs, you can usually get them for about £1/£1.50 from Wilkinsons or Asda.

I wondered what type of mops people have, i seem to have tried all makes and sizes and don't like any of them, I find that after a while they are not picking up all the dirt and I end up on my hands and knees which is fine for a good clean but not every time.

I haven't yet tried the biological powder and will give that a go, does anyone have any other suggestions - I have a lino floor and it is the most walked through area of the house.

I use a swiffer type thng which i got from aldi or lidl and use a fresh microfibre cloth dry and spray the floor with stardrops first. its got those sort of rubber hole thingies on it. My kitchen floor is teeny. I give it a proper hands and and knees scrub when moggins tells me to

i use very hot water, a squirt of bleach and a squirt of washing up liquid (tip i read on here somewhere). i have a mop with a scrubber bit on. i do the same as squeaky and shuffle around on an old towel!

my floor doesn't get that mucky as there's only me here, and i do it weekly or fortnightly. its white lino tiles though and comes up nice.

  • I use soda crystals with a little Zoflora on my slate floor, it brings it up a treat and smells fresh.
