  • My floor tends to get cleaned with Zoflora anti bacterial disinfectant. It's a fresh smelling one and is lovely. Will have to try squeaky's tip, it sounds like it would work better on my floor. Shall shuffle the sprogs off to do it this morning ;)
  • I use soapy wood cleaner on my laminate floor - we have it all through the house on the ground floor.

It's a pig to keep clean though!! When it is clean it looks fantastic - but you could literally spend your entire life cleaning and picking up "bits" grrrr!!
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)
  • I use Soda and water in a Hoover floor scrubber, it works a treat and is great on normal tiles and the encaustic/Daulton ones in the hall too. Like this one - http://www.auctiva.com/hostedimages/showimage.aspx?gid=13623&image=1315836&images=1315836,1315847

I got it from a boot sale for £4 !!!!

  • Just a bucket of hot water with a small squirt of cheapo washing up liquid on my vinyl floor

i have a tiled kitchen floor and use really hot water and a squirt of "Stardrops". Comes up lovely!! :)

Infact i use it for my laminate floor too and for loads of other stuff like cleaning my hob and fridge freezer doors and i find its brilliant!
  • I've been using hot water and washing up liquid with small dash of bleach, (but since joining this board changed the bleach to dash of vinegar) on laminate flooring, but found the only way to get a thorough job done is on hands and knees.

The key to sparkly laminate seems to be in the drying after cleaning.
I've found after that buffing with a dry microfibre cloth after cleaning gets rid of any smears and brings the floor up a treat. If i'm in a hurry i tie the cloth to the head of a broom and do a faster dry standing up.

Also discovered that the squeegy i use on windows has a hollow handle which the broom handle fits into perfectly. After a good scrub the floor can be dried very quickly with the squeegy.

  • I second tallulah. I do the floors on my hands and knees, partly because all mops etc seem to be the wrong height and my back goes, but I m alright on all fours!
