My first AF order arrived today. Most impressive.
The cakes (especially the lemon ones) look great. The chocolate ones a little more "bashed" or with patchier icing -but at these prices I am not worried. This sorts out cakes for son's BDay at very low cost.
Also pleased with the lemon and coriander couscous, pasta, boasters, mints etc etc.
I have already placed a second order.
Only a little disappointed that some items out of stock!

    I've been Money Tipped!
I bought the Mr Kipling Orange slices.

There were 3 individual packs of two slices in the box.

I opened one pack at the weekend and they were lovely, opened the second pack today and I was almost sick. _pale_

I bit into it and spat it out immediately as it was totally disgusting. It tasted like some kind of chemical was in there, I was quite worried actually.

I went and gargled with some mouthwash, brushed my teeth and drank some water as I didn't want any of it left in my mouth.

I just threw the rest of the pack in the bin.

It may have been a one off but I def won't be ordering those again.

i know what you mean...ohhh the burden :rotfl:

looks like they've taken some points on board, i noticed they put up a notice about their upcoming website with paypal as a payment option so that's good...

i'm in two minds about it right now though, i WANT to order and can't because of the google no maestro thing but i really shouldn't anyway as my cupboards are full to bursting and so is my hall cupboard! but they keep sending me those lovely little emails and it's so tempting probably just as well i can't order just yet! :p

Hi - I just got to the end of my order to discover that I can no longer pay with my Maestro card. Coming on here I see that other's already knew about it though.

I was just about to have a look and place my first order with them.
Does this mean I cannot pay with solo, this is the only card I have?

just yesterday i got an email from dan asking if i'd help test drive their new site that accepts paypal (which DOES accept maestro, not sure about solo)

the site is a HUGE improvement and they are working out a few small issues but it should be ready soon (sorry i'm sworn not to share the link it's just in testing stage now) when i pretended to buy items it allowed me to go through to paypal ok though i didn't finish the order that way obviously as it was just a test so it would appear that part of it is sorted out.

this means that as long as you have a paypal account you won't be forced to use a credit card to pay for your purchases on AF. paypal can be a bit of a pain to get started but once you have an account open it's brilliant for all manner of shopping online and if you do online surveys many sites offer you a chance to get money via paypal (actually some ONLY pay that way!) so it's well worth getting an account anyway

i'm quite pleased with some of the improvements and it looks a lot nicer too, less like grans homepage and more like a shopping site :p

I would join in just I cannot until they take paypal, sorry.

Dan has updated this on Facebook so please ignore the above.
A slight change of plan we now have a voucher code, just so we are able to see who has seen our message. Voucher code is : TEST Just put that into the tab on the left hand side of the basket when you are looking at the total for your order. Remember only valid between 6pm - 7pm tonight.

    .

What are you doing to me, telling me about discount codes. Heard of facebook cos of teenage sons but never ventured near it!
I only received my last order this morning (everything I ordered and extremely well packed) and now I've just had to do another one.:rotfl:

For anyone who hasn't tried the heinz spread & bake jars, they are really nice and useful for other things too. Lunch today was heinz mediterranean tomato bake spread on the naans also from AF with some mozarella, ham and pineapple (sainsburys basics) as topping. Quick easy home made pizzas, delicious and less than 50p a person.

    I'll second that.

I use the Mediterranean spread and bake as the tomato base when I make my own pizzas, it really makes a change from other pizza bases. I would give it 10/10, give it a try folks.

    ;)
