I've been lurking for a while and keep looking at approved foods but am undecided. I was wondering if you could tell me if you can taste any difference in foods that are out of the best before date? I know you can eat foods after this and it's the use by date you need to look for. My other half is VERY fussy and if he noticed an old date wouldn't eat it, I on the other hand.....

any advice gratefully received, especailly on things you've tried.

    thanks
We haven't had anything that we thought tasted inferior. We've had tinned soup, fruit juice, cakes, kidney beans, sauces and pickles, crisps, chocolate, packet soups, fruit pots and some stock cubes which were really out of date but taste absolutely fine. If you ever thought anything wasn't good, you can tell them and they would probably refund.

I've just placed a collection order as we're going to Leeds next weekend and I wanted to make sure the curry sauces etc would still be in stock! They look like a fabulous bargain!

I think if this is how you feel you could start with an order of totally 'safe' stuff like flapjacks, popcorn, sauces, etc. The stuff I have sometimes felt unsure about ( though don't get me wrong, its still good) would be the smoothies, and maybe the juices- though sometimes that is because they have cranberry in them which is a bit funny tasting. My teenagers are very fussy and before the whole AF thing would have slung anything out of bb date. But they love all the stuff.
Sorry to quote myself. I think what I mean is that if you are living with a doubter its best to start with things that there can be very little doubt over.

I'm just about to place my 7th order having tried many new/different items on each previous one without any disapointments.
So, in my opinion, bearing in mind the low prices available, it's worth taking the risk of something not being liked and you will probably be pleasantly surprised! :-)

For more specific feedabck about particular items there's a separate thread dedicated for discussion about the 'Food' here...

The delivery was not so good as I found they had left the parcel at a house opposite and no card to tell me where it had been left!?!?

After a call to DHL i was told it was left at a neighbours who has 2 subaru cars in their drive!
