My last order was delivered by the new courier(plain white transit&forgot to ask firms name:o )0
-
Oldmacdonald - I can understand you were annoyed at the time, although I do seem to remember you posting as to how pleased you were and how well packed the order was,
That was my first two orders. I cancelled the final one.but I cannot see why you are raking up a complaint about an order that was placed and received weeks ago, or see how it is relevant to people just reading the thread.
I was following on from a post of yours about valid reasons to complain about ASDA. You read it in a different way as I had intended and I raked 'up a complaint about an order that was placed and received weeks ago' as a way to clarify. You even made me think you had still been waiting 3 weeks for your order ...
That was not the intention.
I am unable to decide if you sound so argumentative on purpose or if it is just the way you come across. I am not going to comment on this thread again.0 -
So you haven't actually got a current order in with AF then?
It's unfortunate that you think I am argumentative, but that is up to you.
I just think it's prudent to point out to people that:
a) AF are having backlog problems - no point in complaining about it if they are already dealing with the issue and have informed customers on their home page
b) DHL are having tracking problems, but again that is being dealt with
c) Some orders were arriving damaged, but what I can gather from a quick flick through of the posts I can't see any recent comments on that so I'm presuming the majority have been sorted?
I'm not dealing with a nationwide/global organisation like Asda, I'm dealing with a one man band who is offering me products, prices and services that I am happy with, and if they hit problems I understand they do not have the backup resources to respond in a manner that would be expected of Asda or their ilk.
Others may not feel the same, they may not feel the price savings outweigh the problems - fine, it is their choice not to use them - but to know there are problems and to keep on using the company whilst still complaining, seems to me to be counter productive, and I for one will continue to support a company that is saving me money despite inconviences, because that is, after all, what this site is about.
Oh, and a piece of constructive advice if AF is looking in. I use another food delivery company and they pack using corrugated cardboard. I don't know if it's cheaper than bubble wrap, but I've only ever had one thing damaged and you can recycle it in the compost heap!0 -
Maybe the reason people think you are argumentative Mistymaid is that every time someone has ANYTHING remotely negative to say, constructive or otherwise, you jump into the discussion to defend AF, exactly as you did on the last thread, we all saw what happened there and it wasn't pretty. I think Dan is very capable of speaking for himself. You are really not doing AF any favours by acting like this, it is almost as if you take all criticism personally. I have no idea why you are doing this, it looks a bit odd frankly, in the same way that some people have criticised kenmoore1 and bargainhunter1 in the 'food cakes and chocolate cheapish' thread.
When will people realise that this is a forum and everyone on both sides of any discussion are entitled to give their opinion without being made to feel they are irrelevant or unwelcome. Dan has already said that he welcomes ALL feedback, so having a go at posters who are trying to give him feedback is detrimental to HIM, if he never hears anything negative then he won't know if things are going wrong somewhere and get it fixed.
I have the greatest respect for Dan and I fully understand that he has had a real challenge the last couple of months, nobody is saying he isn't doing a good job, what people ARE saying is that some parts of the sytem/process need a little work still!0 -
I quite agree Jaytin.
The purpose of a forum is to show both sides of a situation. There is no point someone saying my experience is xxx so therefore your points are invalid,or telling people not to bother ordering if they encounter problems.
I am sure AF would far rather hear the issues than simply lose custom.
I also have to agree that certain posters defend AF to the hilt, and seem to actively want to denigrate the issues others have, or alternatively post comment which is off topic and belongs on the food discussion about this company. The intent behind those comments seems to be deflection. It is also pertinent to note that previous posts were removed for this very reason whilst many more are now left in place.
This was the issue on the last thread and it is now creeping in here again. All posters, new or longstanding have an equal right to put their views across, and expect to be shown no bias or favour in the way they are moderated. Equally, those who post responses must expect to be answered in the tone of their posts, and not cry foul when this happens.;)
I have a current order outstanding and it is beyond the date that AF stated they were up to,so technically late,my last order was badly packed and the contents useless, and the courier was also an issue. Therefore by any definition:rolleyes: I am entitled to pass comment, and will do so,regardless of anyone elses view on the situation or how vigorously they defend the company.
I have no issues with how my complaints were dealt with re the packaging/refund. I received excellent customer service in that respect.
That does not negate the other issues, nor prevent me from commenting, nor will it.0 -
DHL are having tracking problems, but again that is being dealt with
I'm not dealing with a nationwide/global organisation like Asda, I'm dealing with a one man band who is offering me products, prices and services that I am happy with, and if they hit problems I understand they do not have the backup resources to respond in a manner that would be expected of Asda or their ilk.
...to know there are problems and to keep on using the company whilst still complaining, seems to me to be counter productive, and I for one will continue to support a company that is saving me money despite inconviences, because that is, after all, what this site is about.
A few things, firstly, it is not just DHL, people have had no dispatch/tracking advice and they did not have their parcels from DHL.
Secondly, since when was Dan picking, packing and dispatching every delivery himself? He has a large number of people working for him, as he has said himself he had to take on a lot more staff, your 'one man band who is offering me products...' comment seems somewhat ridiculous, not to mention a little selfish, so I guess as long as you are happy that's ok then.
Thirdly, 'to know there are problems and to keep on using the company whilst still complaining', this is an even more ridiculous statement. Are you saying everyone who has experienced less than perfect service should not order again? Are you saying that people should put up with poor communication, no dispatch/tracking info and damaged goods and say nothing? You can call it complaining, Dan calls it feedback. How exactly will saying nothing help either AF or Dan? If people had not complained here then there are many issues Dan would still be totally unaware of, if those people then decided to not order again then he would have LOST customers! Wow, you really know how to alienate people and lose AF customers, well done! :rolleyes:0 -
Just got my order of the 21st , sent by the alternate courier. He only had one box instead of two but as he was passing he dropped it off rather than wait till tomorrow. Nice guy, carried the box in. On the invoice I notice they are now marking at the top names of who picked and who packed- presumably part of the answer to sorting out poor packing.
I like the look of the stuff I got today- lots of juice, mini tarts and stollen.
The key to many of the issues people are having issues with now is communication. Most people wouldn't mind waiting a few days longer to get their order complete if they knew that was why it was delayed. However, I have to say this is the first order I have done that had nothing refunded at all, so the stock control seems to be improving.0 -
Did you get a dispatch e-mail from the alternate courier mcallister1 ?
I have to agree that poor communication seems to still be the biggest problem for most people, I think unless that one area is vastly improved there will remain a lot of people who are less than 100% happy. People don't mind waiting so long as they know they will get everything they ordered at the end of it. If items do have to be substituted then maybe a blanket statement of providing extra of other items already ordered, of similar type and to the same value would be helpful.
On the other hand, it is good to note that there have been less reports of damaged goods in the last few days, so that area seems to have been greatly improved, possibly it was just down to one or two packers not using enough common sense.0 -
I would be the first to defend AF as I personally have never had a problem with them and always found Dan and the staff friendly and helpful.
However I agree that everyone no matter whether good, bad constructive or indifferent is allowed to have their say about the service they received. I also agree that with out feedback Dan can't improve issues and customer service.
My opinion again but I don't like the arguing that seems to have started happening again over the last few days. Like I said before everyone is entitled to their opinions and we should all respect that and not argue amongst ourselves. Again I have to agree it probably isn't doing AF any favours but like I said it's only my opinion. xxx0 -
I've just had my order of the 21st delivered. Everything in stock and well packaged. Really pleased and will order again.
Thanks Dan and team.0
