It is how people usually are that is required, to just say the the worst case scenario is not correct.

I am well aware of what the form asks and am also well aware of the motivations behind the form. Most people are too proud or naive to pass over the full extent of their illnesses or disabilities and it usually results in loss of benefit. Educating them to the motives behind the form with the absolute advice of speaking to CAB, etc is far better I am afraid.

Don't get me wrong, I am not advocating lying here but the form is not nicey nicey and it's intentions are to identify what you can do not what you can't do. As such people often fall into the trap of, "well I get by" or "i manage to do this or that".

People with serious health conditions are failing the PCAs at the moment and as such a little bit of preparation is essential. Don't forget being on sickness benefits does not mean you can't look for work. Naturally I am not suggesting that is the case with regard to OP's situation.

The form identifies what people can and cant do, you cannot have one without the other.

If people are honest and fit the descriptors they should pass the medical. Obviously I know it does not always work out this way.

No, it doesnt, because it also depends on the medical professional being honest also. In my case Ive failed because they lied.

What I have said about the forum is correct, you are talking about the medical.

Most people do not have problems. Forums like this highlight those that do because people need help. The ones that have no problems would have no reason to post.

Agree to disagree then simply because I know it to be different. The interpretation of what is written on the form has as much bearing on whether a medical is even assigned to a case or not.

You think it to be different. I know the interpretation of what is written on the form has as much bearing on whether a medical is required but it does indicate what someone can or cant do, that is obvious.

How do you know it to be different?

I help fill out IB/DLA/AA forms out at the CAB and i would go with what Healy has said.

The OP should describe a typical day, this is what is asked for in the IB medical. Otherwise a false impression can be given.

Quite right too! What i meant was at the worst in a day... ie..many people have peaks and troughs in a day

It is fine to describe how it is at its worst during a day but my point is it should not just be this but the whole picture, good and bad.
