DO NOT under ANY circustances buy or even taste the value cheese triangles THEY ARE GOPPING! they do not come out of the packing cleanly and taste like wall paper paste!
the pasta sauce is good as a base to add garlic, mushrooms and peppers to.
I use the value washing powder in the dishwasher and to clean the bath after the scum monsters (aka DS#1 & DS#2) have been in it.

I use value washing powder, thin bleach, microfibre cloths. Also the value orange juice (apple and breakfast juice as well) and sometimes the butter. I have had the value beans before, which are nice, but we hate the spaghetti!!!! And NEVER buy the value rolled lamb, the worst piece of something ever, no meat, loads of fat and goodness knows what else!!!!!

Be careful with Tesco's sometimes their own brand stuff is more expensive than the brand name items!

thier concentrated washing laundry liquid is surprisingly good

    apple juice from concentrate
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

    Value tomatoes
Value peppers (I don't mind the mixed small sizes - they all chop and slice the same as the individualy prices (and more expensive) ones)
    Value Orange Juice
    Value mandarins
Value peaches are great for making peach wine (at 14p a tin)

To be honest I'm not loyal to Tesco, I buy the above at Asda too, where the passata (pressed tomatoes) and smart price cornflour are particularly good value too.
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D

I buy quite a few value things, I double check that the price is really the lowest and also, with processed foods check the ingredient list - often home brands use higher levels of fat, salt to make cheap ingredients taste better. It's all trial and error basically, but here are a few things off the top of my head:

    Likes:

    tinned tomatoes, sweetcorn, kidney beans
    flour
    butter
bacon (bacon offcuts really cheap and good for cooking)
    orange and other fruit juice
value squash - lo cal 16p bargain!
    chocolate digestives
ready salted crisps - 12 pack for about 60p
    porridge oats
'citrus fruits' - basically mixed satsumas/clems for fraction of ordinary price
    value peppers
    pasta and rice
    lots of value cleaning/toiletries/housewares
value birthday cards & gardening stuff

    Hate:
value ready meals - made of wallpaper paste?
    eggs - not free-range

    Other Tesco tips:
visit late in day and check for reduced fruit/veg: often reduced to 10-50p for fab stuff, inc organic
    good range of pulses/dried foods

I bought some fresh steak with chillis from Tesco value range today and barbequed it,have to say it was gorgeous, only 2.90 enough for 4 of us.
Other stuff I buy in the value range, self raising flour, beans, bran flakes, porridge oats,UHT milk, fruit juice and fresh fruit and veg, only things we can't stand are the value bread or coke, but most of it is personal taste.

Slightly off topic but in response to Annie-C. I shop at Asda and compared the ingrediants in potato waffles. Their value ones had less !!!!!! in them than the more expensive waffles.

I like Value batter mix, flour and frozen yorkshire puddings. I hated value sandwich pickle. Value lemonade is nice.
Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!
