What on earth do mortgage repayments and holidays in the sun have to do with the points you are making about part time working.
Working full time should affect your HB as the more money you earn the less benefits you should receive
if you have a mortgage and you decide to go into full time work for a bit of extra cash then you dont have to phone your lender and tell them this for them to adjust your repayments do you?
You have to when claiming any kind of benefit and whilst majority of people may understand this some don't!0 -

Rather than looking at the small print look at the bigger picture. The OP has asked a question and some people have passed judgement because they have no kids no partner work part time and have to rent. What gives anyone the right to judge another person?0 -

This point is totally irrelevant. Mortgage payers do not get help from the taxpayers to pay their mortgage if they are working. You can only get help with mortgages if we are on certain income-related related benefits and then the help only starts after 13 weeks. HB/LHA is funded by the taxpayer and it is only fair that the more you earn the less benefits you receive.0 -

And who is to say they can afford to rent and work Full time? Yes they won't be claiming benefits to help with rent costs and possibly c'tax discount but will they still beable to afford living expenses if rent is around £500 and they only walk away with a full time minimum wage job? Remember they would have the usual bills to come off that or do we persecute them for that aswell?
If you can't afford your rent, the answer is to either move to somewhere cheaper or to work more hours ON TOP OF a full time job! The answer isn't (or shouldn't be!) to work fewer hours and expect the tax payer to contribute! Why should anyone earning minimum wage expect to be able to afford £500 per month rent?0 -

And if you want the OP to work more hours then give them a job if it bothers you that much that they have no children and only work part time! Or maybe you should just ask the OP as to WHY they only work part time?!
God, you are horrible. Another one for the ignore list.0 -
