Have to say, you are doing yourself no favours here. You are coming across as antagonistic, rude, aggressive, stupid, narrow minded and ill informed. The regulars on this board are the complete opposite and are amply demonstrating this with their posts.
Still, makes for great entertainment.0 -

It's mump love scottish thing!
Let me just clarify for you that I am none of the above. Infact yesterday you insulted me with your post. I just advised the OP that any changes may affect her benefits and then the others started to accuse me of all sorts and then started to judge the OP on her cirumstances! I could not give a flying F%&! what you and the narrow minds think of me on here but I am never going to sit back and let you away with your idiotic comments!
And anyway, thought I was on your ignore list? :rolleyes:0 -

Ok since we are in the process of insulting one another you are a judgemental, narrow minded busy body who must be so unhappy with their own life that they have to try and criticise others for living their life in a way that they either choose to or not and all because you have spent an x amount of years paying tax!
Big F'ing deal! That still does not give you the right to judge to another person!
edit, My gran would tell you to wash your mouth out with soap and water!0 -
goodness me what a thread!!!
it appears the OP has been been frightened away with all the banter nack and forth.
I would say the OP called in for information and a bit of advice, his/her situation isnt in depth enough to gain the reason why she has to/chooses to work part time. it could infact be anything which the posters on here dont know about.
i have to be honest found it a bit attacking by a few, as soon as the word benefits is mentioned it seems to provoke fury in people.
i wonder how many people on here who despise those who claim are quite happily accepting tax credits even though thier joint income is sufficiant and it is given automatically!!
yes i agree there are people out there who simply play the system, but not everyone. i dont claim anything we both work and have a good income. but i know as im sure we all do that that could end in a flash and i could then see myself unemployed for a long time.
i will then be going straight to the benefits office and signing my name and wont be giving two hoots for anyone who throws insults my way because i have done that. because lets face it none of us know where we will be in a week or month and some of you could be queing up in the dole que with those you despise so much, or maybe god forbid having to take part time work and claim aswell!!!
i think its unfair just to attack anyone for claiming a benefit unless you know the full story as to why, and even then you really need to attack the government not the claimant because if i thought i was going to get some help i would!self confessed 80's throwback:D

But the OP did explain why they want benefits! He/she wants to work part time and have the short fall made up by the government.
That is their 'right' I guess, and you are correct it is the system at fault for allowing such a thing.
However, the OP did not stop there! They went on to say how the government does not do enough for them and the very fact they work (part time through choice) should make them a deserving case.
Well, I am afraid it does not work that way and rightly so! It does for a certain other poster who decided to stir up trouble, but their situation is different altogether.
What if every able bodied and 'available' adult decided they would only work part time? The benefits bubble is fit to burst already!
Of the people you are addressing, some claim, and some don't. Some have in the past and some never have. Please don't generalise!0 -

!
If you'd read the OP's posts you'd see that they gave quite full reasons for claiming benefits which came down simply to a question of choice and lifestyle. Although people disapproved of her choices, argument was provoked by another poster who advocated working less to claim more benefits, which is never a popular view on here.
Do you honestly think that those of us who post on here regularly "despise" benefits claimants? Why would we give up so much of our spare time answering questions on here and researching information, if this was the case? You really need to look at the whole picture rather than just one thread.0 -
Slightly off topic but did anyone see Homes Under the Hammer today? There was a property investor who turned a four bedroomed house into five bedroomed, because he had a tenant lined up who has five kids, and he knew he/she could get £230 per week LHA for a five bed house.
When the renovation was complete some estate agents valued it for sale and for rental, and put the realistic rental value as around £450 per calendar month. However this guy said he had already agreed on £980 per month rental for it, as presumably this pre-arranged tenant was on housing benefits, so that is what he/they could get!
Makes a mockery of the whole system doesn't it?I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

For the record, I did not post to stir trouble - the way in which some of you judged the OP was out of order. Who in the hell gave you that right? No-one it is just you on your high horse thinking that you are above everyone else because you are not faced with that situation.
Secondly, I never once advertised to keep on working part time to claim more benefits so how dare you accuse me of that!
Thirdly like anyone else I prefer to use mouthwash so if soap and water is your thing well who am I to judge?
And lastly yes you do all see red as soon as the word benefits is mentioned and it is quite frankly a disgrace! And with attitudes like that it is no wonder that people go out and have 4 children or more and not work! At least these people will a) give you something worth while moaning about and b) will be raising their children in a respectable way and they are most probably more likely to respect the value of money more and give these kids an incentive to work and not be biased to those whom don't work or only work part time and claim benefits!
It is up to the OP how she wants to live her life and it sounds a bit sour grapes to me if you have wanted the 3 bed semi detached in the cul de sac and are having to work full time just to pay your mortgage - maybe if you weren't so snobbish you could have CHOSEN to work part time and rent accommodation!!!!
As for my situation the only difference is I have a child! So are you then saying that it is ok for me to claim benefits bearing in mind I only work part time so will I have paid enough stamps to be entitled to these benefits in your eyes? If the OP wants to work part time and rent accommodation then the benefits are there to help her! And I have read a few of your posts and you are VERY judgemental.
PEOPLE ARE HERE FOR HELP AND ADVICE AND MAYBE EVEN A LITTLE BIT OF CHEERING UP - NOT TO BE JUDGED BY PEOPLE WHO HAVE A PERSONAL VENDETTA AGAINST THOSE WHOM CLAIM ANY TYPE OF BENEFIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
Have you ever considered going on an anger management course?
I find it ironic that you are throwing a tantrum about the perfectly reasonable replies the OP got, while hurling your own toys out of the pram, metaphorically speaking.
If the OP wants to work part time, good luck to her. Just don't expect OTHER PEOPLE to pay for her choice. Simple as that.I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe
