Mmmm I haven't got through either.
  • Yes they keep putting the phone down on me, not very professional for a big comapny like dell. I think we should all contact watchdog.

I put my complaint into Watchdog on Friday and updated it yesterday. I was particularly annoyed that when you use the Dell email system to the complaints department you just get a 'sorry I am out of the office' response, are they honestly suggesting that all complaints are dealt with by one person?

Tried one of the alternative numbers yesterday and got the out of business hours message. So gave the premium rate 0870 one a go today ( ouch!) Got a person fairly quicky, though woww not so bad, but asks if im in the uk and says will put you through, 6 mins of naff and expensive music later, and messages to go on there website ( its not on the website or would of! )got fed up and hung up. Did try again to see if might get through better, but same thing so hung straight up.
Dont spose anyones found a cheaper way to call them have they, I'm sure if there is someone on here would find it!
Nope.... Still cant think of owt interesting to put here.
  • wouldnt this be a lot easier if you ordered it through the website at £339 and then ring up to cancel saying you have seen it in the paper for £299 and see if they reduce it to that price, saves all the hard sell and having to wait

    I've been Money Tipped!
I got one yesterday afternoon. Said it was for a business and got straight thru to a really nice chap. Told him I am not a business but seemed the only way to get to speak to someone.
Gave him the offer code from the paper. He pulled up the item straight away. Did not try to sell me any upgrades. Emailed me the confirmation whilst on the phone and a further email with the customer number arrived last night. So really pleased.

Just say " Business" to india then you get put thru to really nice and helpful people in Ireland who do not try to sell you anthing other than what you ask for and do not cut you off!!

I've done exactly the same thing. I have also sent a copy of the watchdog email to Aongus_Hegarty@Dell.com (email address of UK MD as posted earier in thread) as well as UK trading standards ( institute@tsi.org.uk ). I sincerely hope one of the appropriate bodies picks this up as Dell shouldn't be allowed to get away with this outrageous behaviour.

what's the lowdown on this laptop? Is it the best deal EVER?!? (or a really good deal at least)

Will it be able to handle digi photos, music, surfing as it is? What are the disadvantages of it (without upgrading anything?)

Could just about afford it (I think) but is it the steal of the century? or just a deal that'll be back along in a few months time?

    cheers
