  • Well done Rachel - I LOVE my library, been today but often use online. My son is quite impressed with the cd and dvd collection online there too!

This is for scholarships - don't know if there is anything there that would help.

Not been very productive today but do have some banana bread in the oven and am about to make some meatballs. Desperately need to get a bit of oomph to tidy and clean as my sister and her husband are coming to stay tomorrow. Perhaps sm or andan can pass me a bit of their boundless energy throught the ether...please!!:T
    Getting there...slowly! :D

    GC : must do better
    NSD: very rare

No matter how slow I go I am lapping everyone on the couch.

There you go Yorkshire Belle , should be enough oomph there to get you started:rotfl:

  • hey guys, didnt get on yesterday but was very good

took day off and went to scary interview with council. went as well as could be expected and I should hear over next few weeks what further action they are going to take. Because I called the helpline and didnt put things in writing, I have no proof I did inform them about my change of circumstances. Let that be a lesson to everyone...always in writing!! They could at worst decide to prosecute, fine me or give me a caution. Gave no indication which it would be. Hoping obviously it will be the caution.

At night took dd to free screening of Confessions of a shopaholic. I really enjoyed the movie although some of it a little close for comfort LOL We even took our own sarnies and sweets although dd had a voucher so she bought us both some juice LOL

Today - took dd back to hospital. They have now decided her leg isnt broken, just sprained and have sent her home and told her to take plenty of painkillers. Am i being skinflint in saying I wish they had kept the cast on instead as it didnt cost me anything???

    - storecupboard meals
    - scratch and click
    - watch last episode of bones dvd to give back to friend
    - do uni TMA
    - catch up with online project
    - investigate sites to use to guide writing my own autobiography
    - write some debt letters and keep up to date (bank charges one priority)

Think that will be me. DD wants a bit of a girlie night tonight

  • Hi All :hello:

Hope everyone is having a good day. Was talking to my other half last night and looks like we could be moving in together a little sooner than we thought, maybe in a couple of months. We are sitting down and working out all our money tomorrow night. From what we have said so far I should be ok with a little left over every month, but just need to get the money for my half of the deposit and anything else we might need. He has moved out before but had to move back to his parents for a while as the last place was sold (he rented and so will we be, at least at first) so has some things and I have some things my parents have said I can take. Hopefully we will find somewhere with white goods in the kitchen so the only other major thing we will need to buy at first will be a sofa and wardrobes if there arn't any built in ones. I've seen a few with white goods and built in wardrobes which would be great. He has said in the past I could borrow my half of the deposit and stuff we will need to buy but I have said I don't want to move in owing him money already.

Sorry hun I've cropped your post, but just wanted to say don't forget to look on Freecycle for sofas etc. I know they often come up on my local one and I got rid of my two sofas on there last summer. There was nothing wrong with them- just wanted them to go to a good home.

BTW another library fan here. I'm lucky to have two very near me which is just marvellous!

-Brit Awards on telly tonight, resisting opening a bottle of wine

  • Morning all!

Early for me today as I set the alarm (in half term! ) as gotta get car MOT'd. Am so scared cos I know it will fail and just checked bank accounts and even with overdraft there's not much room for anything extra :o

How did your MOT go? My car failed....of course:o All stupid things - one of them not happy with as it passed with same fault last yr and yr before! (it was a piece of tape over tiny part of rear fog light) One tyre needed, head lamp needed some plastic clip in, which I had to go buy - 45p;) And a teeny weeny split by my door that I have to arrange to get welded...
Oh well...nothing too expensive though...just damn inconvenient;) :D
I really need to sort out a new signature!

Debt free me, congrats on the moving in together am sure it will be a great experience but can be expensive.

Freecycle is great, so is ebay if you can collect the goods as people often get rid of things for a lot cheaper because they can't post em.

This site is good for the ebay thing

YB, hope you found your oomph with SM's help!!

Bagpuss well done on your win.

Angelflower, glad your daughter's leg isn't broken after all, even if you did want to keep the cast!!

Millyscarlet, glad the MOT wasn't too expensive.
