Hi All :hello:
Hope everyone is having a good day. Was talking to my other half last night and looks like we could be moving in together a little sooner than we thought, maybe in a couple of months. We are sitting down and working out all our money tomorrow night. From what we have said so far I should be ok with a little left over every month, but just need to get the money for my half of the deposit and anything else we might need. He has moved out before but had to move back to his parents for a while as the last place was sold (he rented and so will we be, at least at first) so has some things and I have some things my parents have said I can take. Hopefully we will find somewhere with white goods in the kitchen so the only other major thing we will need to buy at first will be a sofa and wardrobes if there arn't any built in ones. I've seen a few with white goods and built in wardrobes which would be great. He has said in the past I could borrow my half of the deposit and stuff we will need to buy but I have said I don't want to move in owing him money already. I'm really excited about us living together but also nervous as I have never moved out my parents let alone with a boyfriend. I will be over on the rents board quite a bit looking stuff up and getting tips but if anyone has any here let me know, all tips appreciatedNeed to get myself more in gear for making more money extra fast! I will still be aiming for my target even when moved out when I don't have as much money to put away, but I see this as en even bigger exciting challenge then saving the money now when I have more to save. I am going to be so savvy with moving out and household stuff too! He has also asked me if I could show him all these little extra things I do. I have showed him quidco and he knows about the free scratches, but I am going to give him a masterclass on it tomorrow :rotfl:
Today;
Free scratch - I think it was 20p?
Bought lunch into work but I don't think it is going to fill me up!
Look for mystery shops
Start taking photos for Ebay starting with a diamond braclet that was bought for £149. Hoping to get at least £50 for it. Have been looking on Ebay to see what similar items go for
Write up my masteclass for my boyfriend tomorrow :rotfl: Will probably help me as well with everything written out clearly
Washing on 30 - I didn't do this yesterday!
Look for jobs0 -
Hi Everyone
Blackruby - what a great picture! Graduation day is always great. I work in a University and for me it reminds me why I do my job!
Fayjmck - well done on the £10. Finders keepers!
All sorts been going on in the last 24 hours!
It turns out my lodger things that there is a fairy that switches off the override button on the boiler! He left the override on over the whole weekend ! I am so annoyed! I have had words with him but I hate having to do that.
I applied for a new bank account. I don't like A&L and so am moving to First Direct. I should get £100 for the move and managed to find a cashback site that would give me £75. :j
I challenged a bank charge on my account and was informed it was a mistake! Thankfully it will all be rectified soon.
I'm out with the girls tonight to celebrate my engagement. I get to show off my bling! So there won't be much dfw tasks but here are mine for today:- Check online banking DONE.
- Put a loaf in BM.
- Washing on before I left for work.
- Airer dry.
- Check paper for jobs.
- Brought in snacks from home so wouldn't be tempted by the shop.
- Print off some papers needed for class tomorrow.
- 15 minutes of tidying the bedroom.

Hi guys, today is my first day trying to get debt free! So far, I bought my lunch from Farmfoods for the next 3 days, for about the same price as I normally buy my usual sandwich and coffee! And when I checked my on-line banking, Nationwide have refunded me £45 in charges I asked for, so am well chuffed! Going to the cinema this evening (orange wed so half price!) and will be taking my own juice and munchies. Due to bank charges refund may treat myself to a Ben and Jerry's...
Oh, and also sent of my BF's CV to a few places (quicker me moves in with me, the less I spend on train fares to see him and on phone calls lol).0 -

thanks for the welcome! There's no way I would be motivated to clear my debts without these forums - I think they are going to be my life saver over the next wee while!0

Just a quick update to say that I've discovered the library!!!
Been on line and had a good nosey about and its actually quite good - have registered and am now waiting for my library card to be delivered.
Have also phoned Lloyds loans and made an extra overpayment of £600!!
Feel positively angelic!
Now need to figure out where I can get an extra £5000 for next year's teacher training... think I have a grant and a student loan sorted but if I can persuade someone to give (or loan at a push) me £5000 I'd be "earning" only two thirds of what I earn now whilst training (after tax of course). Must better than I thought it would be - far less scary financially.
Any volunteers.....:p0 -
Well done, Rachel, that's not small, that's big!Not an expert, but I try and contribute and I'll always listen. Middle child of middle child parents. I drink way too much coffee.
