I have my mum's homemade lasagne baking through in the oven, she knew I had my other work to do tonight as well, so saves me sorting dinner.
DD's have actually been doing some bits in the house while they're off - not loads but enough for it to be a miracle!!
Nothing like your mum's home cooking, is there? My mum did a lovely roast dinner tonight."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Have just come back from a successful trawl of RTC goodies in our nearest Co-Op.....2 x dozen meatballs (at £1.25 each is cheaper than the mince to make them!), 2 x twin pack aberdeen angus burgers £1.15 each, and a scrumptious pizza for £1.25......only thing was that I only went to get a small loaf & some sketti hoops (had a craving for sketti hoops & poached eggs on toast - was a fave easy-tea of my mum's and it would have been her 79th birthday this week).
OS-wise, we're saving loads on gas at the moment, as our boiler is playing up  Had a new timeswitch fitted before Christmas, now gone back to the same problem of not lighting so BG have been & are due to return with bits to be fitted that will hopefully "sort it out". At least we will have had our moneysworth of the Homecare payments in parts!
OH away again, so only me to keep warm - supper on the sofa in front of the gas fire and a hottie in bed will keep me nice and cosy!
Got some bits on that well-known auction site, one thing has 27 watchers & is on £11.51 already with over 3 days to go! Pity that balances out the other stuff, which has 1 watcher between the two items! And have sold 7 books on Amazon this month, netting me over £24Good thing really, as we have got DS2's 21st plus a Christening, 18th and wedding over the next few months  & I will need some new clobber

Evening everyone
Not a lot going on here at the moment...calm before the storm maybe :rotfl:I wish I was one of those 'glass half full' people
Finding it strange going to work at 1.30 this week, seems like as soon as I get stuck in, its time to come home, the phone was mad today so didn't really get much done. Longer hours next week, somehow they think that this will mean we can do extra workerrrrr I dont think so, 50 hours a fortnight is still 50 hours however you split them.
Tea tonight is easy, salmon. OH just wants his with mash and parsley sauce, I'm having pasta, broccoli and cheesy sauce with mine. OH is on a night out tomorrow so I will have leftovers from yesterday, which was pasta too, seems like a bit of a theme going here
Have a good evening xxxwhoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Hi all and thanks for the well wishes, i really appreciate it.
I got back home at about 5.15pm. I had it done on the mobile MRI unit and they are contracted to do the work for the NHS to cut waiting times down. They didn't tell me anything, just asked me afterwards if i had a follow up appointment. I don't know if that is standard practice or if there is something that has shown up.
I lay down on the 'bed' had a cage thing put over my head to prevent it moving while theyscanned my brain, wore earphones to dim the noise but it was still very loud. The worste thing is that i thought i was going to get ruddy stuck in the machine because i am rather voluptuous to say the least...i had my inhaler before went in theMRI room but i had to say some serious hail mary's to try and stop myself hyperventilating as i literally took up all of the available space in the 'tube'.
I can laugh about it now though!
Tomorrow i have to phone the neuros secretary and tell her that i've had my MRI and then she can get the neuro to look at my scans when they arrive at neuro department...if i don't hear anything, it's good news and the scans are not showing a problem, i will only hear from the neuro if there is somehting that has shown up on the scans that cause some concern or require further investigation.
So when i know somehting, i'll let you know, or not, as the case may be. No news will be good news in this case :-)
I fell shattered and the MRI on my brain only lasted about 15 minutes form the time they started scanning to the time they finished scanning. It was like a conveyor belt system though, lots of people waiting and there wasn;t even time to sit up and get my 'head together' (pardon the pun) afterwards as someone else was waiting to come in and have a scan!
Rightio, gonna go read what you have all been up to :-)Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Glad it went OK and fingers crossed that nothing shows up (but will that mean further investigations?)

Kathlicos - glad to hear that your MRI Scan went well - it's not the nicest of feelings like you say. I had one done on my back about 8 years ago and found it really claustrophobic, had to keep convincing myself that it was all for my own good!
I'm going to be missing in absence over the next few days - off on a training course this weekend, so not going to have internet access until next Monday.
Have a lovely weekend and hope the sun shines on you all
