Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 18th February. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread that we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we have achieved already. Everyone is welcome so please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well”, type start does just as well.
Morning. All is well here, woke up a bit earlier than the past few days, stomach feels just slightly out of sorts.. Bottle of wine and too many crisps perhaps.
Managed to finish all the glossing here yesterday, took 6 hours even with the OH wielding a brush about. It's all touch dry and the carpet seems spared of any paint so it's looking pretty good. The fumes are still quite high and gave me a headache last night. Still it looks clean and fresh.
Paid a visit to the dentist in the afternoon, the whole family checkup. I hate paying £16 for the pleasure, but thankful I have a dentist even if she does not speak English and my Polish is not that good either.
I have to go to court today for a job, so make a change from being on holiday. We are out tonight at friends, so looking forward to that. My friends mother in law is visiting from South Africa and she is a real character, so always worth spending an evening talking.
Well, have a nice day y'all
Cheers

Early shift today and then home to rope Mr Sunny into helping with some jobs. I think that i shall need an hour on the sofa later as i`ve only managed about three and a half hours sleep last night.

Morning :hello:
The tiles in my bathroom won't clean up properly, must be limescale cos it looks like dried water drops  So I'm going to slosh some vinegar on them today
After that, it'll be a morning of cardmaking. Lunch while watching last night's CSI, then down the garden this afternoon.
But first - need more coffeeBulletproof0 -

Morning all,
Its very spring like here today, the sun is already trying to push through :T , off to work today, dd is staying home with the dog, so I can leave her a few jobs to do. Tonight she is off to her friends for a sleepover, and they are off shopping tomorrow, I think there may be boys involved at some point .
Pork ribs tonight, I will get dd to put them in the sc at lunchtime, so when I get home they are nice and tender, I then cover them in sticky sauce and grill while I am cooking the rice and peas to go with them, so nice and simple.
Rubbish and recycing are already out, and I will have a quick tidy before work. Got a wash to do, but might put that on tonight ready to hang out tomorrow, dont have time now.
Kathlicos, hope all goes well today, wish I could be there to hold your hand xx
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning everyone!
Thank you so much for the birthday wishes yesterday, it was lovely of you all to think of me. I had a great day - did some baking and made chocolate brownies and carrot and coconut cake, but guess who didn't have any icing sugar in? Have cut up both and am taking them into work today and also have a couple of bits for my parents too.
Had a lovely evening - the takeaway was great, helped by a couple of glasses of wineWe also watched Mamma Mia as one of the "girls" hadn't seen it and had a great time singing along to the songs!
Did the dog's towels overnight, so they're ready to be hung out in the stiff breeze we've got here, so fingers crossed they'll be nice and dry when I get home!
Breakfast will be cereal, lunch soup and bread and I've not got a clue what I'll have for tea, but it'll need to be quick as I've to drop the dogs at my parents and then pack a bag - I'm off to the mainland for the next few nights for a training course (and a chance to visit some of the shops)
Have a good day everyone and big hugs to all, as a thank you!0 -
