I'm not having a go at you. Most people that I know use them even though they have a car and that is what gets my goat up. If you do have a proper reason then fine. It's just the lazy ones that put baby in the car seat, then into their car then clip the car seat onto the pram, walk about the town for 4 hours and wonder why baby is cranky at feeding time, then back into the car seat onto the pram and off for another walk.

Hehe, I wasn't upset, just wondering what my options are. Suppose I really should learn to drive, but I don't want to :o

The only times I can think of when I'd be doing this is for hospital appointments, which would be 3 hours in the seat, or for visiting family. When I'd visit, the baby would be out of the seat the whole time I'm there (especially if my Mum is around!).

What car seats have a base, is it just the maxi cosi ones?

Do you mean the base that goes in the car, and then the seat snaps into place onto it??

If so Mine does, I have got the Graco Quattro tour deluxe travel system

    Hi all..

"Mummy wants to meet you" vibes to Bubba MFD!
Labour vibes and hugs to emlou!

Nothing much to report from me today.. everything's fine and dandy :) Think I'll have to take a bump pic or two later. Hadn't really taken many up to now - tried, but the bump never seemed to look as big on camera as it looked in the mirror (odd!), but there's no hiding it now!

I've just eaten two bags of crisps whilst I've been reading through because you were all talking about crisps earlier! I had S&V Frisps though.

Feelie, along the lines of what Molly suggested, you can also get magazines on audio tape/CD now - how about a audio magazine subscription? My nan is almost completely blind now and she gets the highlights of the local paper on tape every week by subscription. They come in a little padded pouch in the post and once she's done with them, she puts it back in the pouch, turns over the address label (which has the return address on) and puts it back in the post box :D

Think I'm going to go to Argos later/tomorrow and get some huge vacuum bags (on offer, 2 for under £5) for all the clothes I want to keep, then have another clear out of my wardrobe this weekend :)

What's everyone else doing with their weekends? :) xx

I think it would be fine for trips like this, and as you say, it is not that often.

When I had ds1 no-one told me they were bad for the baby and he lived in his, We used to drive everywhere and walk around for hours with him in it, or when visisting friends/family he would often stay asleep in it, wake up to feed and then I would put him back in it.....sometimes he would be in it for most of the day:( But as I say, I knew no different then.

I only learned to drive after DS2 was 'diagnosed'. All his appointments are up where my maternity hopsital is, 45min car journey or 5 buses! Once I did it I haven't looked back. You may find you change your mind after baby is here :D It's great to say to DH at night 'if you're just playing xbox, I'm off to visit so and so'. I live in a village so public transport is 2 or 3 buses to anywhere... plus, I really hate buses

    This is our one Butterscotch:)

I like it because although we no longer have a car (for next few years) If I go out with my friend or mum then we will be going out in their car..But as it has the carrycot part I will use that mostly for walking to school and back etc

It nice but too bulky for us, I have been looking at this one in mothercare which is similar style to the slivercross one.
