I was 25+6 on the 20th February when I saw the midwife and I'm trying to work out when I can claim the Surestart Grant (I know it's at 29 weeks), does it go:
25+6
25+7
26
26+1?
You wouldn't think this is my third baby!!!!
Thanks everyone and congrats!
Bless you Siren - you have just given me a real giggle...although I had to read your post about 4 times before I spotted what you were doing!!
I went back to bed at 6am and we were rudely awoken by one of hubbys employees calling my phone at 9am (hubby sensibly turns his phone off at night!). Hubby had 2 lads starting a job in Scotland today and it has all gotten off to a poor start. Hubby is still ringing around trying to sort the mess out now so I thought I would come down and have some shreddies.
On my last minute list are:
Drinks and snacks (I have bottles of energy drink in the freezer)
Slippers
Camera
Music (haven't packed my CD yet)
Dressing gown
Glasses
Maternity notes
Anything from handbag (don't want to be taking my whole handbag with me)
And now - BIBS!!

Anyone seen Skintchick lately, just a thought
OH is off today with pay cos they gave him and his mate a massive round on Sat lol
So he's just laid the carpet in our bedroom, and it looks soooooooo nice!
We are off out today to hopefully get the paper for the living room and his Dad is going to come and do it all for us, I wont let OH do it cos he's rubbish!
What does it feel like when bubs head engages?
Everytime i go to the toilet over the last 24 hours it feels really weird, like pressure, i wonder if that is engaging? lol
You wouldnt think i'd done this all before!:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -
No Nicki, you can't post things like that;):D
That is lovely of him to do all that without even being asked!!
I have to ask my dh about 50 times just to get him to empty/fill the dishwasher. Or I usually have to say things like, "right I'll empty the dishwasher, while you take out the bin" "I'll tidy the bedrooms while you hoover downstairs" Drives me mad!!!

She's posting a lot over on DT and The Arms (including today). She did post a question about whether she had felt her baby move or not in the Arms a few weeks ago and said that she was posting there because no one ever answered her questions in this thread, so maybe she isn't reading on here any more?0 -
Thanks everyone, you're stars!!! I was actually 24+6 on 20 Feb, so must be 26+1 today, god my brain is mush!!!:A :

Well much talk of bringing on labour, waters breaking and birth stories I see.
If anyone is interested (or obsessed - Weezl - certainly sounds like you are doing your research :rotfl: ). It is rather long but may be of some use.
I will never forget at my ante-natal classes with DD the midwife talking about the breaking of waters and saying how many women were petrified that their waters would break while down the frozen aisle of the supermarket and getting electrocuted but it was nothing to worry about and usually just a trickle. Well I can vouch otherwise for that.
With DD I went overdue by 9 days. I was booked in to be induced on the Saturday but the Thursday I went into shopping mode and couldn't stop shopping. I even returned to the shop at 9pm to buy a rug as I just had to have it then.I returned to my parents where I was staying as DH was away on a course (he is never around when he is needed). I sat watching tv when all of a sudden I felt a pop and water gushed all over my mums sofa and brand new carpet. There was no doubt this could be mistaken for a toilet accident as it was like a dam breaking.
I called the hospital to explain my waters had gone and they said to pop along to the delivery suite but as I was having no contractions or other signs that they would probably just monitor me for a while then send me home until something started. Everytime I moved another gush came and even though I sat on a pile of towels in the car it still went through.
I got to the hospital and was taken straight to a room where I was hooked up to the monitors and the MW said she would come and check on me in a while. Every time she came in she checked the printouts from the monitor and asked if I was feeling anything, I said no so she left. The whole time I laid there all I could hear was the girl next door absolutely screaming the place down and my mum was saying how ridiculous because it doesn't hurt that much. (Mum says it's like shelling peas  ) This went on for about half hour or so when she asked if I was sure I wasn't feeling anything because I was having contractions every 1 1/2 minutes. MW checked me internally to find that I was 6cm dilated and DD was breech and her foot was about to drop into the birth canal. The rest is a blur because I just remember the panic button being pressed and loads of people rushing in the the room and being told that as baby was breech I was going to have to have emergency CS. I had no time to think or do anything, people were removing my jewellery and helping me take my contact lenses out. Then a consent form was thrust under my nose and I was told to quickly sign it. Infact I didn't even have time to sign it I was just to put a cross  .
The next thing I remember is waking up and being told I had a healthy daughter. My dad was the first person to hold her and when he brought her to me I just whimpered "oh she is soooooo beautiful".
Off to have a cuppa then can give the lowdown on number 2 which is a completely different story all together.0 -

I think Skinty feels a bit put out in here coz the majority don't like her slightly radical views - not me tho! I like listening to what she's thinking of, I've had interesting chats with her about lotus births etc:) plus I think she would find the new info Weezl has brought to the club very interesting!
Nicki it also must be catching coz my hubby was mostly lovely over the weekend - probably because he didn't have to work on Saturday and is working standard hours this week (he usually does an extra 2hrs a day) I hope he realised that being nice to me help because as i felt to much less tired I did all the dishes, set of dishwasher, washing machine, changed the bed clothes and did a proper underneath everything in every nook n cranny hoover

Welcome back Mrs T!
Labour vibes (scary stuff!) to MFD (I would need glasses and contact lense stuff!).
Just had call from docs, the blood that was taken last week at the hospital (yep, thanks for the bruise!) was fine apart from there is now a prescription for me for iron tablets to pick up. Lovely, black poo alert!Proud mother of twin boys - double the trouble and twice the pleasure! :T0
