Morning MFD, sorry I wasn't around for early morning chats, it's lonely isn't it, the morning insomnia?!
Cool that your bubs has decided on a March birthday, cos more of your early morning feeds will be in the light!
Bit geeky I know, but it was one of the first things I checked when I knew my due date was, the sunrise times on his birthday (6.50 am for me!) I guess I found that quite comforting to know that even if we have a ropy night, it's not that long til the sun makes everything feel more human again!
I wouldn't have thought bibs, but maybe a muslin square for a bit of posset-catching? Sure Kristal will be better able to advise!
I am very interested in the last minute labour rush list! Feel like I need one too! What's on it?
Labour vibes to you!:D
Gonna scroll back now for news of durham et al...

The midwife can usually tell which way the baby is lying when she feels your tummy (Mine did it for the first time last week) but it's not fool proof... My sister was told her baby was head down right up until she went into labour and started dialating and the midwife felt his bottom... If they're concerned yours is breech then they will arrange another scan for you...
mine does this too Kristal and the MW has written the position of his head after each appt in my notes, so you can always refer back. Does she write it in yours too, I guess there are standard things they record?:D
Whenever I've got a bit scared of undiagnosed breech, elle, I've just waited til his next batch of hiccoughs! Sensation very low down: head must be low down too, worry over!;)
HTH!

Morning all..
I remembered to get up for work (hurrah and sulk in equal measure!) which reminded me that I hope AF has remembered she's not at work anymore and manages a lie-in! Enjoy your first day of maternity leave, love!
Right, best find something to wear..
Hope everyone had a good day!

that's great! I've programmed DH's phone to remind him to do all the money things I'm usually in charge of, when to pay off 0% card, when to transfer money into the mortgage account...
;) I'm convinced my brain won't work for the first month or two!

Morning all

Back from the baby show and the weekend in London, thought I'd give an update before I go an catch up.
The baby show was PANTS! Waste of time, full of little independents selling carp things, not very big and a total waste of time to be honest.
Anyway, got a weekend in London and a show out of it as well which was good.
Krystaltips - Re why I'm high risk, a couple of things really, family history of diabetes, PCOS and my weight. I don't mind so much to be honest I would prefer to know everything's OK.
Quick question I've not suffered from MS at all and yesterday and today I can't stop feeling sick and I keep on getting cramps in my tummy, silly question I know but is this baby or something I ate related?
Right, off to catch up.You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same0 -
I didnt pack bibs with DS2 and ended up sending my nan out to buy some. You will use them. I have packed only two as I am hoping not to stay in for very long. With DS1 I stayed in 3 days/2nights with DS2 I stayed in 2 days/1 night so I am hoping this time i will be home the same day.
I am still not feeling very well . Have felt sick and had a tummy ache for 3 days now!!0 -
Morning everyone, gosh so much to catch up on you have all been busy this weekend.
I think I must finally be starting to blossom :j
Am now 13 weeks and for the first time this weekend I managed to function as a normal human being again and not the zombie I have felt like for the last 8 weeks.
It was my birthday on Friday and I had a lovely day. DD came home from school and made me some cup cakes and decorated them and while I was preparing dinner she set the table all nice with flowers and streamers and made our glasses into cocktail glasses with little umbrellas and orange slices. DD and DS sang happy birthday and cheered hip hip hooray and helped me blow out my candles. It was so special to me, really made up for the fact DH wasn't there as he is working away for 6 months.:(
I have been a domestic goddess this weekend and we have dined like kings on home cooked food rather than the convenience carp that was all I had the energy to muster up the past few weeks. :j
I just hope it continues at least till hubby returns home and then he can take over and I can finally get to put my feet up.
Off to catch up now as much as poss, hope everyone else is well.0 -

Searching, just remember that milk can prohibit iron absorption so drink orange juice with your leafy greens and milk later... (Yeah like I practice what I preach, my irons plummeted lol)
MFD, I'd take a couple of bibs, babies tend to spew green slime in their first few hours... Aimee went through all the babygros I took in her first night because everytime I changed her she covered herself again...
Tinks, could be anything hun, if you're worried give the midwives a ring...
Elle, funny your on blueberry team... I'm eating blueberries now
I have a dedicated midwife... So dedicated I've seen her once... (Your hospital looks so swish, like a private one! Might trundle off and look for some pics of our maternity unit!) A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

MFD/weezle I had a postit stuck on my hosp bag last time
it had stuff that I use everyday like toothbrush and hair brush on it, This time I will pack my spare glasses too because I took mine of so I could bury my head in a pillow when a contraction hit and then forgot them so Chris was a bit of a blur for the first few hours!
I didn't use or need bibs in hospital, I would have thought that if u will BF you won't need them as they tend to not spit up when getting colostrum its more a problem when FFeeding or when ur milk is in which takes a few days IMHO
Tink it could be anything  MS can hit at any time, I was tired yesterday and retched a few times and I'm 26+5 today (good lord where has the time gone???!!!) Shame you didn't enjoy the baby show, Mooki had much more fun when she went - I suppose it depend on what you want from it, I wasn't massively impressed with the Manchester one.
I'm off out n about today so don't fill too many pages without me!
PS Weezl do u have a link to the info about calcium just before labour? is it two thousand mg? and did you find it on its own as every pack I see has vit D in it too is that ok? TIA0
