It stems from last week and seeing what (or more to the point, how little) our friend's baby was fed.. :o
well you said he/she was 11months didn't you?
Well we went to Austria when Chris was 13months and while there he had
7oz bottle of milk 1st thing (one ready made carton), then a little jar of porridge,
lunch was almost a full tray meal for his age,
    another tray meal for tea,
a 7oz/full carton of milk in bottle before bed
and 2 or 3 snacks in the day - snacks were usually about 10 raisins or a biscuit or a breadstick.

What was he/she being fed? did he/she seem skinny or hungry/grumpy a lot?

Edit SB has just reminded me I forgot he also had dessert at lunch and tea, which would be a little pot of fruit purree or a small petit filous stylee yogurt

The MATB1 id proof of your due date, it is needed for lots of things, a copy of mine has been given to hubbies work for SPP and I had to send it to claim MA ;)
if I was working I'd have to give the original to work for my SMP

One thing to bear in mind Elle... When you're not used to feeding toddlers their meals can seem ridiculously small... I know when hubby cooks and puts food out for Aimee I usually have to go in and take half of it off her plate...

Agree with Sami though, if he was grumpy and seemed hungry then it might be he's not getting enough...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Thanks ladies... Was hoping to send off the SS forms this week seeing as I'm elligible but if someone's got to sign it I'll have to wait a fortnight... Shame I'm not working this week, could of gotten someone there to sign it for me...

Oh, the more you post about that family the more I feel sad (and angry!).

Older babies do eat quite alot really especially when they start crawling/walking. At Poppy's 8m check the HV said she should be on 3 meals a day, plus puddings, as well as milk! It did seem alot but she soon let us know when she was full or hungry .

Don't tell me the child went hungry?

Cow&Gate creamy cereal (I never saw how much cos they got up first)
260ml of milk (SMA blue tin)
100g of Heinz purple jar (200g was a whole jar), then kids yoghurt
    260ml milk
Repeat of lunch (other half of earlier jar)
    260ml milk

No snacks and nothing fresh. That's a normal day - it wasn't jars for ease on hols, that's what he usually has. There was also a conversation which went along the lines of "oh, he's one soon.. then he can have proper food like fish fingers, chicken nuggets, smilie faces.."

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be critical - I know I have no idea of all this and will probably eat my words when my time comes! I'm just concerned.. his mother has no guidance - father is convinced "HVs know nothing!" and she's just listening to him, not the HV. Little one is notoriously grumpy.. :(

ETA: I looked at the Heinz purple jars - they were about 61kcals per 100g.
