  • Elle - as baby gets bigger you can tell how they are lying - I can feel bums and feet and knees and elbows sticking out all over the place :D

First time the MW felt and told me how Bubba was lying I thought it was some magic she knew...now I often say to people 'have a feel of this knee' to shock them!!

Hope all goes well for you Triggles on all fronts.

Do you mind me asking whether you are glad you went ahead with the screening? I didn't for my first two as I feel the same as you, but on advice of my doc I've been booked in for the combined test (bloods and nuchal) in a few weeks time, as I'm 40 now. Have started wondering though whether its worth doing, given that if I had a higher than usual risk I'd feel the same way as you about continuing with the pregnancy. With hindsight would you rather not have known, or are you glad to be preprepared for the possibility?

Do you think it would be worth it Tara??

I have to wait in for my shopping delivery tom 11-1, and I don't think I would make it there and back either side of that time! Unless my mum turns up, she has promised to do a Tip run for me this week, sometime?

I thought you had to take it for weeks and weeks for it to have an effect?

    Mel x

Why not give MW a ring in morning and ask, if you haven't been used to it so far it might give you enough of a twinge to get things going once your ready. ;) Can your mum not get some for you on her way over?

Hi - hope everyone is okay. I will have to peek back through posts and catch up a bit. Things are still a bit insane here at the moment.

FIL is still in hospital - they at one point told us they were going to turn off all machine support for him - then changed their minds! We went through all the agony of facing his passing that afternoon and then didn't. It's been such a rollercoaster - he's still fighting - but they say they don't think he'll recover.

DS2 has had vomiting and diarrhea for the last 4 days - is just finally holding down water and had some banana today. We've been giving him fluids with a medicine syringe round the clock - then I got it as well. Poor DH had to take some time off work as the stress (as well as no sleep) has been unbelievable.

I was told I had GD, so am now testing blood sugars. And they told us our Downs Syndrome risk is 1:12, but the nuchal measurement was 1.6 (which was not included in the risk assessment), so we're waiting for the 20wk scan in 3 wks to see if there are any soft markers for Downs. We wouldn't terminate based on Downs diagnosis anyway, but would like to know in advance if there are any obvious health issues.

Other than that, things here are fine. *sigh*

    Sorry to hear this triggles:sad:
Hope things start getting a bit easier for you, but you know you can always come on here if you need people to talk to :o

On another note entirely, does anyone know when Holloughby Willoughby is due? she makes even me look positively thin.

I only found out it had been moved by a day when I turned up for clerking (bloods, chat with anaesthatist, etc) today and they tried to send me home only to go back for clerking tomorrow and section on Tuesday but they finally realised it would make more sense to clerk me today and then see me on Tues.

Still didn't get our night cos we didn't get back from hospital til quite late and its still a school night so Mil had to go to bed.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Good evening all, busy day here too with washing curtains and cleaning windows, must have been cos the sun came out. Just popped in for a quick read before I go and tuck myself up in bed, been on the go since about half six this morning and only stopped about an hr ago. Now I feel very tearful though so guessing its over tired.
RLT - was wondering if I had left it too late, maybe not shall try and get to shops (dont like tea or fruit teas though so may be pointless!)
Big hugs to all that need them x x

She's due May, shortly before Xfactor is due to start filming again... Sure Sami knows exactly when ;)

Diva, you need to copy the whole list with the births and ttc part too... But good effort!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I think she's due the week before me so about 25th May;)
My sister says she's an advert for contraception :rotfl:I do think her bum looks huge!! I think she'd look better if her dresses weren't so loose and flowing

Nicki - My friend was pondering the triple test and I said to her; ask yourself if you got a high risk result would you have amnio/CVS? if you wouldn't go for the amnio/cvs then is there any point in spending the rest of your pregnancy worrying about it?
I have a friend who 's daughter had a heart problem that was picked up on 20wk scan, she was told that the type of problem it is is more common in downs children. She didn't have amnio or cvs because of the risk of miscarriage but spent the rest of preg in a complete state and her daughter was "normal" apart from the heart problem.
I didn't have any of the tests because I couldn't go through for amnio/cvs so would rather not know
Don't forget to include your hubby in the discussion tho :D
