I've just had a Magnum :D Am a bit chilly now though..

Had an odd attack of sickness at half two in the morning last night. I went all dizzy, then shivery, was quite badly sick, then cleaned my teeth, fell into bed and slept until morning.. not very nice at all and all a bit confusing cos I felt fine right before it and when I woke up this morning! :(

Oh, completely random thought.. Sami, the lodges did have Tefal fancy spot frying pans (for the pancakes), after all! ;):D

went to bed hoping gym ball may have done something, nothing not a thing, mw calling this am,for 3rd sweep, so hopefully something may have changed you just never know. I have most defo tried getting jiggy, told my dh to make the most of it now while he can.
  • Morning durham05 - how many days overdue are you now?
  • I have had students at both my deliveries. With DS1 I had a whole room full of students watch him being born and with DS2 a student midwife delivered him.

    Durham and MFD:

    :j:j:j:j:jBig lovely strong labour vibes!:j:j:j:j:j

sugarspun, congrats! P.s is your sis on here too? Have you recruited her????

Sami, after what a rock your mum was, I really hope you can have her with you again. Will that be poss, or will she be with Chris?

I read yesterday in my massive geeky trawl of journals that the best birth partners are the ones who give active intervention and help and are confident in what they're offering. Pure 'moral support' doesn't cut it with labouring women, alas!:o

I thought that was quite interesting, and I'll chat about that with DH, see how confident he feels offering me stuff, rather than just saying, 'you're doing really well!'

Weezl - My mum is on Chris duty but depending on what day/time I go others may be able to look after him, MIL works shifts so maybe on a rest day or may have finished work in the morning etc. BIL is at college and I've just this second realised he might have finished :j I'll have to ask him later (no chance he'll be awake at this hour!
If its a weekend there wouldn't be a problem because my dad and FIL don't work weekends and I've been told to be prepared for baby being out quickly

I used to make DS bottles up with hot water, never left it to cool down :o

  • Morning all - I had a good nights sleep for once. Only 1 wee and slept until 7.50am :D Bliss!
Although I was giggling to myself as I did the 'stand up - trickle - sit down - wipe - stand up - trickle' routine Sami...I am much worse for this in the night!

Weezl - at my Water Birthing Class the MW was quite firm with the partners about how they need to be an active participant in the birth and that no woman wants a birth partner who just sits like a lemon. Key tasks if I can remember were keeping mum hydrated and cool then providing physical support whilst mum was in the water (hence 2 t-shirts on my hospital packing list)

Speaking of which I have now include a small bag of makeup to my hospital bag. There is a miniature foundation, mascara and lippie just in case I want to feel a bit normal when I leave the hospital.

    Off for a bath.

Still passing my labour vibes to durham for now!! xx
