  • No, no, no, no, no - I have been trying to take my mind off a chippie tea since we drove past it at 5pm!! My pasta will be lovely, my pasta will be lovely, my pasta will be lovely...:D

Sami & SB - my mums work is on notice that she will leave as soon as she gets the call to say I am going into the hospital. My parents live 90 mins away so they will come to our house and let themselves in until Hubby calls them from the hospital to say they can come down. They have an overnight bag packed and by their front door and if it happens to be one of the days that my dad looks after my 2 nephews their other gran is on standby to have them until my brother can get to them. It's like a military operation!!

We are not having DSS overnight now until Bubba arrives 'just in case' - although he is convinced that he wants to come and stay as soon as his brother is here!!! He may change his mind when he realises that may well mean no sleep!

Chippy Tea here too! Chips, Fish, Mushy Peas, loads of vinegar and ketchup, a can of cherry coke and a banana fritter for pudding. Fabulous! (Thats healthy, right? I mean, peas, ketcup and cherry coke are all veg/fruit?)

    Scary story:

Sorry... Sure your pasta will be wonderful... And so much better for you than my big greasy bag of chips smothered in salt and vinegar...

My Mum has her work on standby for time off, although if it's during working hours Aimee will be at school and depending on what day I have a couple of options for having her collected from school... The only thing I'm having trouble getting my head around is... If I go in the middle of the night, my Mum will come over and wait while Aimee sleeps... But I'm unsure how we'll be getting to the hospital at the minute...The buses don't run between 11pm and 5am...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Oddly my mum will pretty much be dropping everything too when she gets the call... only slight hitch is she will be in Denmark... So unless they decide to induce me or book me for a CS (please no!) then she'll have to decide between trying to get a plane ticket, get on the ferry or drive for a couple of days... yikes!
DH however will be home with me for the first week too so at least he can help out with Roo, but I am almost hoping we get to the point where they say "yes we'll start inducing you on the x date" so mum can book a ticket :rotfl:

Thankfully DHs mum has decided that although they are coming over too then they'll find somewhere else to stay like a B&B as obviously I will want MY mummy here :) Girl needs her mum ;)

same problem my mum had my dad put my mum in a taxi when she was having my sister. it was 4am... (1987)
when she had me, my uncle was taking her to the hospital. his own car was in the garage so had a garage car. and 5mins after leaving the house he got a puncture, went to change the tyre and the spare was flat. Being 1974, taxis in my home town were non-existant so as it was late afternoon, the bus to Dublin came along and they put my mum on the bus. my dad didnt even go with her!!! god kows what they thought on the bus as mum would have been having contractions at that point!!
thats why DH is taking our car for a full service at least 3 months before i am due. and checking all tyres

Assuming you don't have a car? I guess neighbour might be able to drive you? Worst case if there isn't an alternative then 999... Or depending on how far you are then Taxi :) That time of day/night there shouldn't be a long wait.... :)

*is silently grateful for having 2 cars and if worst comes to the worst lots of nice neighbours who wouldn't blink if we knocked on the door at 4am... Infact if it was REAL urgent then there is a police car next door ;) Not sure how I feel about possibly giving birth in the dog kennel of the van but details smeetails!*

Odd all this talk of McD and chips isn't making me fancy them... might it be because I know I have a leg of lamb in the oven and spuds, peas and bearnaise sauce to go with them? dinner guests are running late - she's a vet and had an emergency at the surgery so dinner slightly delayed... Pure torture as the lamb is smelling absolutely delish!
