I have 1300 airmiles and have not accrued any for many years as I now live in spain. I have been told by airmiles that I am unable to use them here and I cannot buy goods with them as they do not send to uk addresses. Any ideas how to use the airmiles before I loose them.

I'm not at all impressed with Airmiles for sneaking all those changes in. And a £30 admin fee - what a rip off. I just checked back over my old eStatements and Newsletters and finally found it buried near the bottom of the page in very small grey almost unreadable font. Who's reads all that stuff! (Guess i will from now on).
I hope lots of people complain to Airmiles about this.

I've just had to book a short notice flight and pay the £30 as can't wait the 35 days, but the terms and conditions which they make you agree to to complete the booking make no mention of the 12 months or the £30. Worth a challenge Martin?

I had not used AMs for years, but decided to use them up to buy my annual Travel Insurance. Went in and they were going to charge a £30 Admin Fee as I had gone dormant, so I bought 60 AMs with £2.50 Tesco voucher. Then bought the Insurance, a very good deal I thought!

Hey!

I just want to know about the booking a hotel thing to get those airmiles; do you have to pay for that hotel night? i.e. is it a hidden cost??
And does it make a difference if you don't use the airmiles for flights, if you use them for something else?

Re Mr-B's question about earning Air Miles on your credit card. I have 2 Lloyds cards and the Air Miles I earn go direct on to my Air Miles account. Hope this helps.

I recall now that the bit I was referring to was the Duo credit card's introductory 1500 mile voucher:

"1,500 miles will show on the customer's account as a voucher within 30 days of the Eligible purchase and will not form part of the AIRMILES balance."

MidgeholeDave asks about BA miles.

They expire without warning if there is no activity on the account for three years. I learned this to my cost having tried to use my miles over a long period. Seats were never available.

Star Alliance (which includes BMI) miles never expire.

Incidentally I thought BA had sold off AirMiles some years ago - does anyone know ? vbmenu_register("postmenu_18914685", true);
