  • I have been going to RC since 30/9/08 and have lost 2st 8lbs. As said the classes are great fun and our consultant is brilliant.

After weigh-in we have a quick run through weight losses, a short talk and then on to the exercise. My first week I thought I would never cope with the exercise, I felt so uncoordinated, but now I love it. Jo changes the choreography frequently so it does not get boring, and that always causes much laughter as we all get it wrong. But laughing uses more calories.

I really look forward to my class every week (I will be going for a long time as I have a lot of weight to lose).

I have also found the low fat way of eating very easy to adapt to. I do use a lot of the recipes from the books and magazines but also manage to adapt some of my own.

Well done veyrongirl on your weight loss! I've just started going to RC classes and I've been overwhelmed at how friendly they are. The other members are all very chatty (or they seem to be - I've only been going for 2 weeks). The portion pots are good, but the one for wine is quite depressing!

I like the fact that there is an aerobics section as what's the point in trying to lose weight without the increased exercise? There really is a mix of abilities - from those who do the basic moves (like me!!) to those who seem to be leaping around the room (exhausting to even watch!). The chat bit is also quite good and if you DO want to talk a bit more in depth then you can phone the franchisee any time you like - or catch her after the class.

I am liking the sound of this more & more so thanks girls!;)

I prefer the original choice on SW and do all the low-fat stuff and I am not good with carbs (I just feel bloated), so wouldn't that fit in OK with Rosemary Conley's method? I would be happy just staying on this way of eating TBH and doing a good old workout with like-minded people.
  • Hi all, I have also seen some classes adertised locally for the first time. I always buy the magazine but am unsure about joining the classes. Worried that it will be full of Gym Bunnies when I really need to lose some weight. Also, what is the average age and do people go with friends?

No, gym bunnies is far from it! There are women of ALL shapes, sizes, ages etc (seriously!). I'm 29 and I go with someone who I work with who is 59 and she's definitely not the oldest (nor am I the youngest). The class seems to be split 50/50 between those who attend by themselves and those who attend with a friend. Like I said before, the other "slimmers" in my class all seem really friendly and not at all cliquey.

  • My class is also mixed ages, from young mums to OAPs. I am 53 and need to lose almost 8st:eek: , some of the other ladies only need to lose a stone or so.

A new lady started a couple of weeks ago and really struggled with the footwork during the exercise, 2 members were there instantly showing her how do it. It really is that friendly.
  • My class is also well mixed and very friendly. Everyone wears what they want and if you are struggling with the co-ordination don't worry as no one else will and you know everyone has been there (first week) and are always willing to help.
    Love a charity shop bargain

I started last week- a male !!!!!! I won a months free classes on the radio and am in the 1st week which I am finding a little hard. My wife is doing the diet as well but its just me going to the classes. I support everything that has been said- everyone is very friendly - not at all like the diet sketch on Little Britain!! I need to lose about 3 stone so I guess I will be on it for a while but time committments may mean i don't go to every class
Divorce all finished- now to start saving for a better future!
  • The first two Fat Attack weeks are hard but it will get easier when you get your personal calorie allowance in Wk3. Although my OH is not doing the diet he happily eats the same meal as me in the evening, this makes life so much easier. He has also lost weight just from that simple change.

Have to say the Portion Pots are a godsend. It really opened my eyes to how much I was eating before.
  • Hi All

I just wondered if anyone else here was doing the rosemary Conley diet and fitness. I had my first class yesterday with weigh in and enjoyed it and wondered if anyone else was doing this.
