  • I'm starting my first Open University course in the spring; I can't wait. Plus, it looks as if I'll get it fully funded as I'm earning so little money, I'm actually worse off than I was when claiming JSA.
  • w200 I am studying towards my law degree, Busy cracking on, hoping to get the first three assignments all done before the course starts.

They seem to allocate so much time to blocks, ie. 1 week per block, can easily be done in 1-2 days. Really hoping I get a different tutor this time..my last one liked to use a lot of latin quotes..or simply reply " I cannot say" ... funny..but not helpful!

Cracking on with it :o hope you guys are having a bit of a break from the books too ;)

Don't be fooled by W200 - the beginning is slower to help people take on the approach but then come to the EC stuff and there is a lot of work in a small space of time - 2 x 20 per cent assignments and an exam in quick succession. Overall there is a large amount of law to be covered in 9 months.

I have noticed that the W221 seems to be quite intense - have you done that one Floxxie - it might just be the time of year that it runs over but I had an assignment due in on the 2nd Dec and the next one is on the 6th Jan with 4 units to cover in between. I work full time as well and have 2 kids (6 and 4) and with it being Christmas as well it feels a bit full on! xxx

  • Thanks for the replies, what coincidence!!

I am cracking on with it, so far so good, have studied at uni before so hopefully get ahead. Worked double time through my last one without too many problems.

Can easily put in 30-35 hours a week atm, so taking advantage of having weekends/ evenings

Oh go on then ....add me in :D

Freely admit I'm an OU addict ...after 2 BSc hons, 4 diplomas and a cert in contemporary sciene, I must be. Its amazing what you can get with some double corse countig and careful timing of claiming awards.

I actually started way back in 1995 with the intention of seeing if I could pass a foundation course. The I decided I wanted a degree...and now I'd like to change career (part of the master plans for the next couple of years)

Just wondering... Has anybody here managed to use Clubcard vouchers to pay for the entirety of a degree year (or even a degree itself?)?

I'm looking in to the OU to top up and finish off a foundation degree - using Clubcard vouchers would seem to be the cheapest way possible for me to get a degree in the UK so far!

Blimey! I'm impressed :D Well done!

Yes, the OU is rather addictive lol. I find I complain and stress through each course and then find myself desperate for the next one to begin.
