  • Silly question really,do you have to ask for Double the Difference? Or is it automatically given to you? (confused)

    Many thanks..

I've prob had 50% of the time automatically given DTD, 50% I have to point out the DTD pledge on the board behind CS desk:D

Nice to see that the "misprices only" is being adhered to:rotfl:

At risk of being shot down here is a nice problem for you legal eagles to comment on... Where is the contract to buy with Tesco's made? Is it at the checkout? The reason for asking is one of my local stores have had a refit to their checkouts with the till reciept printer moved to the rear and a scanner pointing to the aisle for you to scan your own clubcard. Looks nice. The printer has a metal shield around the sides to keep it in place/On this shielding they have the A5 sticker giving the usual "blue board" information. Lo and behold the "And if things don't add up" section it says "we'll give you your money back and you can keep the product":T

R&R on it's way back maybe or just old stickers being stuck on a new refit?

So going back to my question... is the contract made at the checkouts, because if it is then surely Tesco would have to honour the policy on the lealet, as opposed to the customer services blue board. So find the XBOX 360 at 2p over SEL and bob's your uncle (again)!

Is that clear? I hope so.
I miss too many pages due to work so if you need an answer from me, please send me a PM.

Yes thats clear enough for me, If this was within 100 miles of me, i would be inclined to have a drive up and try it...

The contract is made as soon as u have paid for your goods and have received your receipt......but whether Tesco would then honour it is another thing.

They fought hard against genuine cases when RnR was the policy, and tried every trick in the book to get out of it....

So really it dependes on the store managers integrity, whether hes a cheating git like a lot of them were, or whether hes a decent bloke, who recognises theres been a mistake, accepts its HIS fault and gives you the RnR like he should, but i fear theres not many of those guys left now, altho Constantine and one or two others may like to kid you otherwise......

RnR back again...............wow...thats better than free cars off Motorpoint.

and in reply to someone above..I was banned for RnRring......and then later for excessive Couponing............so yes anythings possible.

I would say what you describe above is a lot different that deliberately buying everything and anything just because you know you'll get a DTD.
But like I said, I will stop cluttering the thread with my gumph!
    x

There are a lot of Tesco experienced people on the thread who realise when price changes are imminent, as we did with RnR.

On price change days I only buy mispriced things (that i dont want) that are 50% off...so giving a DtD of the full price.......and if I am lucky, the receipts arent marked, enabling me to legally return the goods within the stipulated 28 days to get my money back.........

I dont like giving Tesco ANY of my money, but really enjoy shopping for free items....

I talk in the singular above....but there are lots of us doing this....and proud of it

Different items have different days, the easiest way is to go in store, pen and paper in hand and look for the yellow labels....there maybe 10 at a time in electricals, write down the "offer ends" date, and the day after that is DtD day.....the same applies to other departments and items

    Good luck...
