Can I ask, sorry to be stupid, but are people deliberately buying things knowing they will be wrongly charged so they can get a refund (well double refund!) ?   Deliberately wasting staff members time ?
I take it you go to several stores, as if anyone tried that here we would quickly be recognised (not that I would do it in the first place!). TBH anyone trying that in a store I worked in would be banned if it happened more than a couple of times!

so you mean to say you would ban people for tesco breaking the law! and tescos own customers pointing it out to them, and under their own terms and conditions. wow well done but please do not open your own business as you would more than see it go down the pan!!!

Not at all, if you buy something and it has been wrongly priced (up or down) then of course you should get a refund (or double refund or refund and replace or whatever). I object to people buying something just to get money back! People don't seem to understand that you don't ever beat Tesco, yes you might personally gain some money, but these companies will write off their refunds simply and easily by making money elsewhere (putting up prices being a main one!). If someone repeatedly buys things that are wrongly priced then I would question their right to continued refunds. Do any of you buy other stuff when you are in for these 'misprices' ? Perhaps Tesco are hoping you will, after all you might be so happy to get that money back you just have to spend it ?
As for opening my own business a customer who abuses a refund and replace policy over and over would not be welcome- don't people have more to do with their lives! Also I think small business HAVE to be more prudent about their pricing etc as they cannot afford to recoup the refunds elsewhere as Tesco etc. can.
Anyhow I see this thread IS for misprices so I won't say any more (not that anyone will miss me lol ;)). I just think its a bizzare old world we live in:rotfl: :rotfl: and I concentrate on money saving that is slightly less underhand.
    Each to their own though!

I take it you go to several stores, Yes :D as if anyone tried that here we would quickly be recognised Umm yes in Orkney maybe - not in the real world though thankfully!:j (not that I would do it in the first place!). TBH anyone trying that in a store I worked in would be banned if it happened more than a couple of times! Tesco staff have tried that and failed!

Don't take yourself or Tesco too seriously - its fun you should try it.

Coke large packs are flashed at 7.59 though the SEL was 7.75ish if I recall right. I didnt buy any. These should scan at 7.59 or its a DTD. Not a very exciting one, but if anyone is buying this they can try it.

I bought two 2litre bottles of coca-cola (the ones with a free bottle of coke zero label on) yesterday, should have been on offer at £2.60 for 2 (Tesco Express) scanned at full price, i queried got the difference back..after some debate they honoured double the difference so got £1.12 back, do Express stores not do double the difference??

Do people really get banned from the stores if they overdo the DTD?

Have the days gone when people used to come out of stores with their trolleys laiden up with the same item after presumably doing DTD?

Just want to know so that I don't get into trouble :o

(I know it might not be ethical - but hey ho :D)

I did say I would bow out as this IS a thread for misprice (dishonesty).
However Mouschka where exactly is the basis for your assumption that Orkney is not part of the 'real world' ? Others explained their feelings without having to resort to pointless non-sensical statements! And regarding having 'fun', well I can think of several ways to have fun that don't involve the T word!

I cant see how seeking dtd the difference is being dishonest. I myself dont exactly look out for them on absolutely everything, but if its on something Im needing and actually buying, then i might get an extra 1 or 2.

My store knows who i am, and know i dont take the mickey, so why not take advantage? I cant afford not to to be honest with you.

Tesco arent going to point out their mistakes, so think of the many people who dont even notice they have been overcharged and Im sure that it far out ways the people who actually get the DTD. (obviously i wont know the facts!)

Meant to point out, that the childrens basic (?!) fleece jumpers are half price in my store in only a couple of colours and so much percent off others but all are marked down (red pen) to £1.25. Small dtd of £1 on a pink one (there are two different colours but only one is to be half price) as it was supposed to be £1.75.

I would say what you describe above is a lot different that deliberately buying everything and anything just because you know you'll get a DTD.
But like I said, I will stop cluttering the thread with my gumph!
