Rusty - I have a friend and a cousin who's hubbies work away and they have the strongest relationships - they feel they are lucky as the weeks that they are back they get to spend 'quality' time with the kids instead of half an hour before they go to bed because they don't get in from work til 6.30!!!
I say let him go for the interview and ask lots of questions - in the mean time - do you know any army wives - or ask around on these threads and ask how people cope when hubbies work away - I'm sure a few people on here have had their hubbies away for a long period (can't remember who it was though)
My cousin wrote in my wedding guestbook - 'the secret to a happy relationship - live thousands of miles apart' ha ha.

I agree with scatty rusty - he'd be daft to not at least go to the interview - he can always turn it down.

My OH has worked away for 2 or 3 days a week since I've known him and he's been here every night and most days for the last 4 weeks and it's driven me potty. He sits on his laptop all day and I still get to do all the housework shopping and look after DD - then he wonders why I'm grumpy - I work from home 3 days a week and actually work most of the time :rotfl:.

He's been discussing a new job that would mean he would be here 24/7 and I'm really not sure that we could cope :o

LOL what I am referring to is that in your reply you put a reply to PLM and a reply to Mel too. It really made me laugh :rotfl: You are so lovely you can call me anything Sarah Queen of scallops :T

I know :p When I wrote it it seemed fine but re-read my post yesterday and agree how I wrote it is a bit odd :p :rotfl:

Agent padster has just received the latest do crafts creativity mag and its a really thick one :D.

The stamps on the front are mini messages - happy birthday, Best Wishes, just for you in a heart circle, good luck in an oval frame, a tiny heart, a mini flower and a cupcake :p.

Am breathing a sigh of relief as OH rang and said he would be home in an hour and we have decided to cut back so he can take this job. It means he may need the spare room as an office so I've been banned from buying any more "carp" as he calls it :rotfl:. I think I have enough to be going on with for now anyway.

Got some lovely brass embossing stencils that you can allegedly use in the cuttlebug, some stamps, stickers, gems and some more paper but other than this months mag were all £1 or less :j

Off to hide it before he comes home and find myself a blindfold so i don't look at any more craft links :rotfl:

Rusty, I agree, your OH should accept the interview, it will be a way of finding out more about what is involved etc. I can so understand your reservations about it but there's no harm in finding out a bit more, doesn't commit him to anything. By the way there are some lovely scroll stamps here, £1 each... http://www.sarahscardsltd.com/shop/441/376/index.htm

I've got the Creativity mag this month and the stamps are good. I've used a couple already.

I've delivered a wedding card order today, got paid nearly £50 and picked up another order. Popped to Asda to pick up some baby bits for my craft fair in August, got 140 nappies for a tenner and some other bits and bobs.

I've sort of read the last few pages but not properly so i'm sorry if i've missed anything important :)

Mel - I will join in the crafty thing you suggested, I might not be very good but i'll give it a go :D

Rusty - I don't know what to suggest about your OH because if it was me I would tell him no chance! That might sound really selfish but i'm not the kind of person that could be without my OH for 7 weeks, it would kill me. All I'll say is whatever you decide, make sure you are BOTH happy with it :)

I've just ordered the Creativity Life Mag and I ordered my dad a couple of mags from another website (only cost £4 for 3 issues of each I think) going to do him a little hamper for Fathers Day. Well I am going to try, I am rubbish at hampers!

I was doing some funny sleepwalking last night! I "woke up" and I remember rubbing my OH's arm and saying i'll go and get you a quilt (he had a quilt already obviously!) so I walked into the back bedroom, got the spare quilt, came back in and put it over him, he's like what you doing? I said I got it because you had no covers but i've just realised you have got covers so I might be dreaming! :rotfl: :rotfl: So I put it back and got back in bed! My mum said I need to get a safety gate because she's scared I might fall downstairs! It's so weird because I very rarely remember what i've done/said when i've been sleepwalking, I sometimes think my OH is winding me up actually! :rotfl:

We had a lovely day yesterday, went to the Trafford Centre, bought a few bits and bobs, had a nice dinner and came home. I fell asleep as soon as we got in! Really tires me out walking about now!

Anyways i'll shush up now, hope you're all having a nice day :)
 Think happy & you'll be happy
    I :heart2: my doggies

RUSTY: My husband work away from home and while it's not what I would choose it is how his career has developed and the department he works for. It is not always easy ,in fact is often hard but you do manage. My kids and I work as a team when he's away and they were young when he started working abroad. i have low periods when he is away usually as you get to the midpoint and then you start looking forward again..........and then they come home and all the little annoying habits you had forgotten about when they were away........are back! You have to re-adjust to not being the only adult making all the decisions and they get a list of jobs you need doing!

All the time I have people saying 'I don't know how you manage' or 'I'd hate that' but it is your life and think how you have financially struggled recently the money would be so useful and save you from ebaying the kids. His job means we live in a nice house and I can work part time. His job also means I have to drag my children to supermarket everytime and nights out are curtailed as I maybe need babysitters for something else. I think in this day and age work is work and money is money so go for it. You will have us here to keep you sane (hahahahaha!) and bring you up when you are feeling down.

Ultimately the decision is yours and your OH's to make but I hope this has been of some help to you
