I shall post more, though I am slowly getting quite a collection of threads to keep up with and time is running away with me. LOL.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Right with dinner out of the way :-) I am going to THANK YOU all. :-)
A quickie before I do all that lot, RUSTY - I think you should be crowned the queen of the thrifty girls. How did you manage all that???? Well done!!! You are so clever. Well done!!! I think I'll start a petition going - for Rusty's masterclass in thriftiness. :-) I could certainly learn a lot!!! :-) I am quite useless!!! :-)
I'll be back later.
xxx
Thankyou AuroraI have just tried to get rid of as much as I can, most of it is through ebay, but then have sold nappy cakes etc to add to my total
As for the masterclass I have only managed to do it all through the love and support from you guys on here xxx

Waves at choccy and everyone else.
My ironing fairy visited this afternoon but i still have to put it all away - maybe OH won't be so keen to volunteer in future but most of it was his shirts:rotfl:. I would offer to post him to you but it would cost a fortune .
I have had some more bag lady money today and a few squids from ebay so might manage baby budgie level by the end of the challenge will list some more stuff next week as I am back to working from home for most of the week :T and I have 2 days off the following week so must knuckle down.
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

I did shopping for Christmas and baby bits today, while I'm here I figured I may as well get presents in and then everyone has a bunch of stuff from me even though I might not make it over with a small one.
Total spend £28, not including £4 on wine for my parents, £1 on Pepsi for my beloved, and £9 on household stuff. So £14, and I bought:
2 A5 notebooks, plastic bound and waterproof (brother, geology student), 50p each
2 lever arch files, again for brother, 60p each
2 Fuzzy Felt boxes, for incipient infant, £2 each
1 set men's handkerchiefs, for dad, £1
1 DVD about penguins, brother, £1
1 lullaby tape, baby, 50p
1 USB disco ball, OH, £2
1 plaster handprint kit, mum, £2
1 Bling book, OH, 50p
4 baby books, whatever the change was!Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

PLM - Hiya Chickdee you've been quiet, hope everything is ok and hope your sis is doing ok.
RUSTY - that nappy cakes looks fab, did you make that one yourself?
MHAGSTER - I hope you have a lovely holiday
I am off to get my tattoo tomorrow at 10.30 and I am starting to get a bit nervous, it isnt my first but I just keep thinking about how much my first one hurt.
Hope all you gorgeous gals are ok x x x0 -
Vets is closed tomorrow & therefore fully booked on saturday, but the nurse(?) said if they deteriorate she'll get us squeezed in.
Cats have been their normal selves during the day, no vomiting, but not eating either. So shall see how they get on tomorrow.
Just got the last 2 points I needed to get a £10 voucher from ipoints. & I won full house on bingoport today (yay) so a little closer to that voucher.
Shall send Jammy an email on sunday with this weeks total earnings towards the challenge.
I'll be making a couple of nappy cakes closer to xmas (getting things early of course) so shall be picking your knowledge then oh great thrifty Rusty.
Well done Hayley, no wonder you cant sleep, your beds on ebay:eek:You cant take a step forward with both feet on the ground0 -
And half an hour later...and 40 odd pages...I forgot what I wanted to say now. :-)
Oh, yes, forgot to mention the melons (both yellow and red). That'll be fun...melons in the north of England, wet and windy...hmmm...I'll keep you posted. :-)
...and half an hour later...here it goes :-)
raimac - thank you. xxx I don't want to go too much into my greenfingered activities, I might get chucked out. :-)
rusty - yes, marigolds i.e. the yellow rubber gloves? Haven't heard that in ages.
"Oooh hang on no ... my friends mum always used to say to wear marigolds before putting your finger in a belly button then you wont get pregnant :rotfl: " - what's that??? :-) Never heard that one before. :-) I shall NOT wear marigolds then. :-)
rusty - well done!!! :T:T:T You put me to shame with my feeble surveys earnings. :-) Well done!!! BTW, the scooters look fantastic. Just imagine the look on your lo's face. I bet a million dollars on that she will feel like the luckiest and happiest little girl in the whole world. Well done.
choccie - that's wonderful you growing stuff. Well done. Don't get discouraged though. I could write a book about how to get easily discouraged from growing your own. Unfortunately.
If you ever want/ need to know something, or any help let me know, I will be very happy to help if I can.
So, what seedlings have you got? I killed quite a few cacti in my lifetime. :-) But I can grow potatoes. :-)
Hayley - horlics - that's the one I meant. You know the drink to help you sleep, I haven't tried it yet, the 24h news works a treat for me.
I hope that furry, coffee maniac Sarah :-) and JS are alright.
Mel - we were given 3 weeks to wait for the results on the cancer. Disgraceful, I think. Trying not to think about it.
I am praying that all will be alright. I hope sugarspan is alright. Thinking of you sugar. xxx
Hugs and love to you all. I'll be awol on the posting front till Tuesday I think, but I'll keep reading and thanking :-) .

It's not been easy. I yelled at some muppet in a call centre today. I explained that I needed to close a Visa account (zero balance, made me smile) because the account holder had passed away. He said he couldn't talk to me about it and was she there with me?
I requested a supervisor; he said he was an account manager and could he speak to the account holder? I responded rather loudly, explained (like the Monty Python parrot sketch) what passed away means and insisted on his supervisor unless he happened to have a Ouija board at his desk. I got the supervisor.
But the worst of the work is over and now my main job is keeping my mother occupied and away from the places she and my nan went together. Which meant spending money on the baby and other relatives in Home and Bargain. Ah well. For a good cause.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
