Imagine what we'll be like in the final month of Scrapbook Apprentice! It will be a co-ordinated multiple team-leader assault on campaign managing to "vote melanie marshall!" In fact I think the final month is around November, so we could tie it in to Chrimble "Vote Melanie Marshall, or the big-man won't visit you this year!"
:D

Managed to get out on my own for an hour or so, my mum popped by and offered to take poorly, sick child away with her ......oh well, okay I'll just get my coat!
visited my in-laws for half hour and then popped into town which is never exciting. Unfortunately our town , like many others I'm sure, is full of empty shops and phone shops and card shops (BTW couldn't believe what OH paid for my card, i saw the receipt and told him I'd have made one if he'd asked!!)
I was given WHSmith vouchers yesterday as a gift but our store isn't huge and I couldn't see anything I fancied.I hate paying full price for books as I read very quickly and grudge the money and don't keep them once I've read. so will hang on to vouchers meantime.
But my bargainous find was money tins for sealed pot challenge....3 months on i can finally join in! I have not been able to find them before...so bought 4 , as I will give one to the kids for Easter i think. We are going to France for the week and I don't want to take eggs with me, as we are driving and the car will be full...the thought of squashed melty eggs......naah!
I have got other things for them and got wee plastic chicks to do an egg hunt but when you're staying in a holiday home you maybe don't want to look too hard!!
That's my next thing to plan for, I love a list of things to do but decided to get b'day out of way and heh it is!!
I am now eating popcorn! I have been such a pig today,if I'd been at work I'd have had my fruit for lunch and been quite happy with that.....
Okay, enough blethering, just waiting for untidy daughter to get in from school and then it will be time to get grumpy son from band practise....a mothers work is never done!!0 -
Whinging update:
My poor oul' grandmother's back on oxygen, there's no bed elsewhere at the moment but they're looking, and my mother has been feeding her her lunch as the nurses claim to be too busy. Apparently, what they're actually doing is mostly hanging out in the nurses' station drinking tea while call bells go unanswered.
I know people need breaks, and I know nurses work hard, but it's logical for everyone not to have a break at once when your job involves a roomful of seriously ill people who can't do anything for themselves.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

My grandmother's taken a turn for the worse. My mother's down there now trying to get her out of the ward from hell and into somewhere where she can actually sleep.
I have to leave tonight for a conference in Italy. I don't think my presentation's till Friday but can't be entirely certain, and don't think I can miss it. Damn it all to hell.
so sorry to hear that! Thinking of you and hoping your mum manages to sort something better out. It's so hard when you have to go away xxx0 -
Hopefully Mel will win this month I think it will give her a much needed boost!!
I've sent my mass begging email round to friends and family and voted at wok and home on all the pc's I use!! She won't be going this month that's for sure!!
Sending you hugs PLM wherever and however you are xxx0 -
sugarspun sorry to hear your grandmother has taken a turn for the worst. sorry too to hear how she is being treated, it is disgraceful.
I am in guilty/bad mummy mode. my boys' school is having a non uniform day on Wednesday and because it is 1 April it is dress up as a fool/clown. I am so not into making costumes and anyway don't have anything to adapt for them to wear. plus I don't have much inclination or enthusiasm to dress them up as a fool/clown (more to the point I am not clever enough!). why do schools have to do so many fancy dress days? ok winge over and most of you probably think I am a miserable mummy:rotfl:saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200

Hello everyone
Well what can I say. I step away for a bit and when I come back you just fill my heart with love. Thank you so much each and every one of you, you don't know what a difference you have made to my life. When I feel weak you have been my strength and kept me going, I feel so blessed x
4 more days till test results to find out just how far deep we are in. I have spent every second trying to entertain her and drove down to see her saturday. I don't know how I am supposed to feel but right now I feel like any other normal day and i'm trying to keep my mind there and not go back to the 'what if's'.
I am so overwhelmed by your support for my 'Scrapbook Apprentice' work. I have always been the friend to organise the surprise parties, give random gifts etc but never the recipient.. I always wanted the kind of friend that would work hard for our friendship, for me. Now I have a whole group of you and it just overwhelms me. What did I do to deserve you all, 20 billion bestest friends and I love each and every one of you.
sugarspun I am so sorry to hear about your gran and how you are torn tonight. Do what you need to, she will still be there fighting when you come back.. she sounds like a strong fighter who knows what she wants and that is something to remember and comfort you. Stupid ignorant people, where do they get off in seeing other suffer for their own incompetence.
Jammy The Ebay challenge is going great and it is in turn making us more organised for christmas then we have ever been. I feel great putting into action the clutter removing and earning some spare cash. Thank you for your hard work and for keeping us all focused xx
Mhags I can't wait to see your birthday pictures. I am so sorry I missed wishing you a happy birthday but I would like to say you are an inspiration and you made turning another decade sound like the best party ever. That's a great way to live life x
I think that is pretty much all I had to say. I am going to try and get my life back to normal now and keep up again. I just needed some time to get some focus and be alone and now I am back.

:j Great to see you lovely Melanie! Your sister will be so grateful for your efforts, you sound like a real star :T
SugarSpun - I am feeling for you. It took 30 mins for my G'dads call bell to be listened to a few weeks ago, and it really grieves me for him. Thinking of you.
Onto happy businessWhen do we find out the results of scrapbook apprentice {PLM} ?? I want to know!!!!!!!! I also want to win their blog candy, the colours are right up my street
I have been naughty today and scrapped instead of worked oops! Will have to work dooubly hard tomorrow. I have discovered 6" x 12" scrapping and LOVE the size!!!!!! I have decided to do Shimelle's 'scrap your day' but with her 'here, there and everywhere' theme - so a book full of holiday snaps in the style of scrap your day - nothing like being confusing! (Missed the start of here, there and everywhere). If you don't know who Shimelle is, you probably haven't got a clue what I'm going on about!
