    Xmas Saver!
Hey ladies, I know it is cheeky to ask but would you mind voting for my son in a competition? We entered at the Baby show and I would love him to have the chance of being in the front cover of a baby mag! The pic has only been on the site two days and he has a few votes but some people have 3000!! Hmm I am not sure we could get that many but a few more would be lovely. You can vote everyday but just one would be lovely. Here is the link, the other person is me! http://www.babyexpert.com/?module=articles&func=display&aid=452941

    Thanks lovely ladies!!!
One more vote added on, do another tomorrow, he is absolutely gorgeous. xx

    Thought Id share a laugh.......

DD had swimming lessons on thurs, so exicted she jumped in by herself for the first time, (normally hold instructors hands and let the instructor do the work), and she went under water as well to pick up a pole (3ft end) but very pround.

Reminded me of an incident with my father many moons ago(20yrs,)........

Since I was a kid dads favourite sweets are liquorise, sugar mice and coconut ice, we were on holiday and dad had eat some coconut ice and then came swimming with me, the next thing he shouts I've lost my false teeth, he had apparently had a bit of coconut ice left and tried to flick it with his tounge, but instead flicked to hard and the flase teeth came out. I screamed very loudly, I have a phobia of false teeth, the poor life guard had to clear the pool, then he went and got goggles, rubber gloves to dive in to the pool, he came out with the false teeth in his hand!!

I'll give you a mother incident..........at times my mum is just unbelievable........

We had a parcel through as I'm trying a new cereal thats due to come on the market, mum gets the box, moans that it looks nothing like the other products they advertise on tv........doh, its a test package...... then she refuses to eat any as she says it has got fish shells in it.........fish have scales...so dd then goes in and tells her teacher....... when I went and got dd from school teacher asked could she have a quick word......ok........apparently dd had told her that I was giving her fish shells to eat and that I keep haveing weird parcels coming through the post....
me very embarassed, then had to explain that trying the cereal and that mum thought the product contained fish shells, even after I checked the ingredients, there was no fish shells, nothing even to look like fish shells, and as for starnge parcels I have had a few ebay delieveries. Luckly teacher ok. Now I cant get a look in at the cereal as mum has decided its the next best thing to buttered bread, espically as it was free!! x

haha mum2one your family sound mad in the most loveliest way!!

my niece once told her teacher that when her auntie came, her mum always had to buy lots of loo roll. Turns out sis had forgotten to buy extra once when we went to stay for the week, and asked BIL to get some and niece's teacher now seems to think we have serious issues regarding amount of loo roll! poor teachers must get told all kinds!!

    Hello :hello: from a lurker.

I just read mum2one's story and had to post to say I almost fell off my chair laughing! :rotfl:

I used to follow the Money Neutral 2008 thread, and am proud to say Christmas 2008 was completely money neutral, part of it very crafty too. I intend 2009 to be the same.

my husband is doing my head in - all routine out the window...if he starts helping he just gets in the way - he starts tidying and he can't do it without banging around, stomping and being loud - I think he does it on purpose so that nobody can miss that he is doing something!!!

have a lovely day everyone. x

  • Welcome Jellybaby and Mellika. :hello:

Great stories Mum2One and JamTart - my niece dragged me into the Disney store years ago and while I was paying, she announced to the sales assistant and the rest of the shop very louldy "this is my Aunty Jo she is a bit mad but very rich" - both of which are completely untrue (well, maybe not the first one). :rotfl:

Have a lovely day all of you - IT'S FRIDAY!!!!:j

    Morning ladies :hello:

Welcome to the newbies...we are a very friendly bunch...some of them are crazy but you'll get used to that ;)

Speaking of nieces saying funny things...one time I was walking round Morrisons with my niece, she must have been around 2/3, we saw a man with a huge belly, so she said very loudly, "Hayley, look that man's having a baby" - oh my god I could've died. So funny though :rotfl:

Another time, she told her teacher it was her birthday and her mum hadn't let her take any lollies in :rotfl: She got a happy birthday badge off the teacher and it was nowhere near her birthday :rotfl:

I bet it's going to be very quiet on here today...hope they're all having a lovely time :)

I was up at 7.30 today, very early for me! Had to go to the hospital with my dad, he was only having an x ray but he doesn't like going to places like that on his own. We then went and had some breakfast and I was supposed to be going seeing my cousins gorgeous new baby but my back has decided to play up so I could hardly walk, so my dad put me on a bus and i'm now back in bed (well I say in, i'm fully dressed and on top of the quilt) Going to take one of my super strong painkillers and see if that helps.

If I ever mention going ice skating again, can you all please remind me of how much pain i'm in now :o I wanted some rollerblades for my birthday but they're going to have to wait til my backs better.

I'm going to take it very easy now, i'm just going to watch Dawsons Creek for a few hours and see how my backs feeling then. Then I might try and do some housework, carefully ;)

Have a good day everybody :)
 Think happy & you'll be happy
