    greenbee - I agree we're a friendly lot, but well-balanced  :rotfl:

It's all relative :D and compared to some of those ...

Rosepink - hope you feel better after the distraction Valli has provided! I'm sure you'll manage tomorrow. Just deal with each step at a time, so first of all make sure you've got a list of everything you need to do. Then make sure you leave plenty of time, so you can keep driving round until one of the spaces you want is free. Then do the first job and congratulate yourself on having done it. Then think about the next thing. Remember, we'll all be waiting to hear how you got on ;)

Thanks, I'm gradually calming down. The pain in my chest has almost gone. I resisted chocolate as that would really mess up my sleep! I'm hoping my tummy will be ok tonight - when anxious I get a bad stomach, lots of pain and heartburn. I'm on tablets for it and it's been a lot better lately. I think I always assume the worst will happen. I need to stop doing that and assume things will go well!
I'm aiming to be in Guildford for when the bank opens so hopefully it won't be too crowded in town and there will be a space.
I think I will try to go back to bed soon. I'm feeling a bit sleepy now. Night night everyone, thanks for letting me talk it all out. Hugs to you Greenbee, thanks for your kind and wise words. I needed them very much xx :A

  • Thanks everyone for your assistance today with my various questions/opinion seeking/recipe challenge etc etc etc.

I love this thread and our wonderful community. Where else could I ask such a load of varied questions, and get so many suggestions or ideas back? Without being gushy/mushy and vomit inducing, there are times when I think this is a truly remarkable place to come. The welcome to newbies, the answers to questions that have been asked a million times before, and will be asked a million times again... without irritation. ;)
The support, the advice, the all round love in.
Thanks so much everyone. Sometimes, it just needs saying! :D

Going to bed now, before anyone accuses me of being drunk!! ( and no, I haven't touched a drop!!) :D

(((((hugs))))))) to EVERYONE, whether you need one or not!!!!!!!

  • I just wanted to post my list to prove I have done something!! not as much as I wanted... I remember my problem - I start doing one job and then before you know it I am in the middle of starting something else - where has my focus gone?

I can't get into the dining room, it is full of mums furniture so I am a bit annoyed at how little I managed to do today - but the ovens are all sparkly :D

Our bedroom :o that will be fun:rotfl:I am pretty sure when we moved in we put a carpet in there!

toots - hope you feel better

rosepink - deep breaths and (hugs) will be thinking of you.

casleigh - wtg! Our ovens were a bit of a mess more the glass doors than anything - took a few goes but they look good now - so if it doesn't work 1st time attack it with something else!

Off to add tuesdays list onto the jobs not finished today

    night x

Haven't got the studying done today, but all apart from a couple of loads of washing is done :D All thats left is jumpers & towels. I'll do them tomorrow after I've put the bedding thats still damp out on the washing line! So my list for tomorrow is :

    WM 2/3
    Maiden/TD/Washing line
Study Block 3 part 1 (finish) part 2 Part 3
Relist items on ebay (someone wants to buy more stickers and I said I'd relist them last Friday :o )
Ring Doctors for DD's test results. (only a swab to check what the sore throat was caused by)
    Recycling out

    Monday - Kitchen
    Level One
    Level Two
    Sweep and mop floor
    Level Three
Wipe all the cupboard fronts, kickboards and large appliance
Wipe and replace all the small appliances
Twinkly Tuesday - Master bedroom & Landing
    Level One
    Level Two
    Vacuum these floors
    Wash the windows
    Level Three
    37 fling boogie!!
    Empty upstairs bins

My M.A.C.A.W challenge this week is.............. To study OU for at least 2 hours a day! So I can spend the weekend DD is away doing my NVQ paperwork. M T W T F S S

BTW - Help needed : I've got some boots that are new to me (from ebay) and they STINK of cat wee. I've tried cat litter inside them for 2 weeks now and they still stink. It seems to have seeped into the material lining and the "leather" outter. Is there anything I can do to get rid of the smell? I want to wear them but they even feel sticky to the touch :( (little kittens who were very curious must have got to into them apparently.. and the seller apologised profusely...I said it was okay, but I didn't realise just how smelly they were  I hoped the cat litter would have worked :o).

Also does anyone know where I can get ridiculously long laces from? Think bigger than you would need for knee highs - big calf muscles means the laces aren't quite long enough for the boots :o:rotfl: Either that or I'll have to wear them un-done at the top and I'm not keen on that as they only just fit!

Right, I'm off to bed.

TAG/Pigpen, don't know if the attached website is of use in the transport of baby items - http://www.shiply.com/ The web site works on a reverse auction pricipal, apparently you list the items that you wish to be transported giving the details of collection & delivery point & companies bid on a backload basis, hopefully saving everyone money. I heard about this from one of the sites that collects & despatches knitting for charity, they are having boxes delivered from Scotland to Ireland for circa £100 this was going to cost £300+ via PO or DHL, (cannot remember all the details). I'm going to investigate the site when I'm ready for my move to Spain.
    Nite nite, sleep tight.

    Morning all

Toots - hope you're feeling better this morning
Greenbee - do you know I'm ALWAYS right too
Rosepink - big hugs love - just tell yourself you can do it. Do you carry a paperbag with you? That's really good for breathing into when the panic really strikes - it helps rebalance the oxygen/carbon dioxide levels.

And Valli - the girl in Cornwall - how tragically sad.

Which reminds me - I have the dentist this evening. Just a check up and the hygienist but I must remember to put my toothbrush and toothpaste in my bag...

Will fly when I get back. Have a good day ladies

Ok whats the best thing for cleaning my windows?? Ive got some "Window cleaner" to use for the glass but what about the frames?? they have about 5years worth of mildew on them, they are seriously Yukky and need a good scrub, stardrops?? or something else??

Also what about painted wooden floors? i don't have carpets in the hall and master bedroom cause i couldn't afford them, so i just painted them as a temporary fix (6 years ago:o ), they are pretty grubby, mopping doens't seem to help tbh i need to get carpets or at the VERY least re-paint them but is there anything i can do short term to clean them up??
