Ahh! Brilliant, thanks for that, its been really bugging me.

    [STRIKE]Lets have a test run[/STRIKE]!

Cool, another incentive to get the lists done...little things keep me happy!
  • I'm getting a bit further, tonight I have completely cleaned the bathroom and the separate toilet, I've washed walls (well as far as I could reach!), cleaned tiles, scrubbed the bath/sink/loo etc. and mopped the floors.

The landlady is coming on Wednesday with the agent and whilst I think I can just about bear her seeing all of the mess I can't bear the idea of her seeing our manky bathrooms!

So I've made some progress - I haven't followed any of the lists but I'm hoping to get with the routine next week - I've virtually finished the kitchen and have completely done the bathroom/loo so tomorrow night I'll shift some of the carp from the hallway (so she can get in the door!) and hoover where I can.

Does anyone have good ideas about cleaning carpets that are covered in hair? I'd love to blame the puppy but it isn't her it's me - I moult worse than any dog I've met and when hoovering end up having to detangle to brush all the time. I wondered about getting a fairly stiff brush and using that first? Sorry, I know it's gross!

  • Monday - Kitchen and Dining room
    Done!:D

I'm so pleased, my kitchen hasn't looked so clean and tidy in ages! I've threatened DH that if his cardboard box of work stuff isnt sorted by Friday then it is going out for the bin men! The cat just uses the box as a scratching post and DH hasn't looked in it since he brought it home months ago! I even cleaned the UPVC door which was a bit grubby, and the paintwork around the interior doors which were also grubby!

Tidying it tomorrow should take no time at all now and looking forward to tackling my bedroom tomorrow..

Star please toots as I am Done! :D

Finished kitchen and done living room (mostly) as I had a few job's that I was dying to get done  Such as dust the junk shelves! By junk, I mean our lovely collection of ornaments (aka toys :D ) That took a while, then moved the furniture and swept and mopped underneath because I can't remember the last time that was done. Found the missing piece of one of DD toys though!

    Done my dailies:

    DW
    WM
    fold dry washing,
    Hang wet washing,
    Swish and swipe Kitchen,
    Scrub highchair,
    Sweep downstairs,
    Hoover rugs downstairs.

I used to hoover once a week (ehem...month:D ) but now DD is crawling I've started doing it every day as we're not a shoes off household, however it looks dirtier than when I used to do it less often :confused: Ah well I think DD is annoyed that she can no longer find pieces of lunch on the floor to have a nibble on!:D

Phew! Feel like I have done lot's today and my house is looking so much better. For the first time in.......forever I can sit down and relax because I know everything is done. Thank you for the motivation everyone! And the list's Pigpen, and the stars toots! If only I found out years ago that all it took were a few computer generated stars to keep me on the straight and narrow!

Feeling a bit wiped out here as I didn't sleep well last night, still got my teeth jaw problems ( which is why I wasn't online much last week, but my lovely, scarily handsome dentist has referred me to the hospital, so I may get some help with this soon )

Wipe and replace all the small appliances
    Extras
    1. HHI
    2. Wash windows
    3. Clean any light fittings/shades
    4. Binbag dance!

Changed my MACAW: 15 minutes violin practice a day....

Toots: Hope you feel better soon, I'd feel wobbly if I sent out as many e-mails in day as you do!
  • Sorry you don't feel too good toots - must be giving out all them stars that's done it.

Well . PLEASE can I have one - finished for today :T and have also ironed for 1 hour and then decluttered stuff from some drawers into a binbag for charity shop - this means that instead of piling the newly ironed stuff on top of useless stuff and it all needing ironed again - I have some space !!!! :D

    Wonders will never cease .

Just gonna look now at tomorrows list and then go to bed.

I snuck out to Maplin's yesterday afternoon and have one on their special offers. It's innoculously monitoring the kettle at the moment. Once the other occupants of the houshold get used to it being there it will be surreptitously moved ;)

And Fly-flo - you think just like me - inspect the Dyson for lint ;)

Pitlanepiglet - I have wool carpets that get hair stuck to them - mine and DDs and I use a dampened scrubbing brush and get down on my hands and knees and hand brush - even my really good vacuum can't pull all the stuff off them - and they are in all the bedrooms and hall, stairs and landing...
carpets are on 'the list' but way down... -it'd need a ship the size of the QE2 to come in to get all my 'list' things done:o:rolleyes:
    more receipts logged and discarded:T
I am pulling things out of that bag and dealing with them PROPERLY

awful about that little girl in Cornwall...how very very sad
