The thing that really set me off with my Great Uncle was a one liner about him on a sort of UK Japanese PoW website which put up some records which have survived from the camps.
All it said was
<abc xyz> - a fine piano player.
One wonders how they got to know that and was that really all he was remembered for?
But, dinner is cooking so I need to go stir things...I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

lil-me-agree with you about the crying but it was the hysteria that she attached too it "mummy crying mummy sad". We haven't yet explained to them what is happening. I think we have decided to do it together for the children. DD won't really understand as she is only 3, but as she will be confused by it.
Normally if I cry I tell her mummy is sad and will be alright in a little while but today was a little difficulties I didn't want DS asking me why. I don't want to lie to him.
Anyway great news re the caravan. Hope you enjoy your first trip this year.January Grocery 11/3740 -
Soappie and Froddington - have tried to find records for my grandfather, but its proving diffficult (very complicated story). Its on my list of things to do in the summer. You are very lucky to be able to find out about your relatives!
Rach - my hand is much better, I asked the pharmacist to look at it while I was getting some valerrian(spelling?) and she said rest the hand and keep putting lavender oil on it. Thanks for asking
Decluttered a jacket potato with tuna and a couple of sausages for my dinner (using up stuff in the fridge so having odd meals).
I'm emotionally exhaustedHugs to anyone who needs them xxx

well have cleaned the ensuite bathroom - just the floor left which I will do at the weekend. have washed the bathmats - they have been washed more since I joined this thread than they have in all the time we have had them!
may do the main bathroom tomorrow.
came into the study, looked at the mess & decided to check my emails & this thread instead.
off to have a glass of wine that DH is pouring for me & read my harry potter book - getting a bit close to a problem though as DS is only half way through book 5 & I'm about 3/4 way through book 4 so I'm going to have a bit of a wait before I can start that one..0 -
