Well H is now staying round his mum so I am home alone with the two kids.
Unfortunately everything seems to be about weddings etc
Anyway at least the TD has finished now so I will have a some ironing to do. Woohoo I won't have anymore shirts to iron
:T:T I did this too when my ex moved out almost 12 months ago:- No more shirts or work trousers to iron:D Although I now have to do the ironing every week instead of only occasionally...
- No more cooking for 4 as he had a huge appetite - Grocery bill has gone down in some areas (I bought a tiger "chest" loaf the other day and it lasted 4 days, when ex was here it would have been gone within an hour!) and in others I've upped it so we get more exotic fruit and I get wine when its on offer whereas I used to just drink beer & whisky which he had in
- No more having to avoid meals like curry because he didn't like them (now we eat cooked peppers, cooked mushrooms, chilli, curry and take-away much more often as they're cheaper for two
) and DD's tastes are changing and she's trying more new things
- No more packed lunches to make - well except mine while I've been on placement;)
- No more car insurance / repairs / petrol to pay for as I don't drive
So about £250 a month saved
- No more having to have the tea on the table for when he got home from work (out at 7.30am and in at 5pm ish as he had a 40 minute commute each way) otherwise he moaned - not shouted or anything, just a general "is tea ready? No...oh well I'll just get myself a sandwich then for now...."
- No more worrying about whether he's had a crash or not - now thats only when DD is with him
- No more trips to the IL's :j:j instead DD goes with him and I get a few days here by myself to do stuff I need to get on with. (Although I do miss the walks in the country and along the beach, especially at sunset, I will admit that!)
- No more mad dashes on a Sunday when getting back from IL's to make sure everyone is sorted for school/work on the Monday.
- No more worry about whether what I'm doing is appropriate behaviour as I can do what I like, when I like as long as it doesn't endanger DD or mines wellbeing
:D
- No more fighting for the quilt and I can now sleep in the middle of the bed if I want to.
- I can have the heater on in the bedroom overnight without complaints from him
- I can switch the fire off and wrap up instead of paying out for gas
- I can get in the bathroom of a morning
- The damp problem has been greatly reduced - probably as he's not around having a steaming hot bath EVERY morning
- I can watch/record what I like and not have to fight for the remote once DD has gone to bed :rotfl:
- Less birthdays & Christmas pressies/cards to worry about - his family are HIS responsibility not mine
- I'm now studying a degree with the aim of becoming a teacher - we couldn't afford it because of his wages level and the amount of money our debt was costing (all in my name unfortunately so I've still got them) but now the courses are paid for in full so I'm doing it
) and valentines / anniversaries (date we first chatted online, date he first said he loved me, our first date etc Yes I have a filofax for a brain
) are tough but I have friends & family who are there for me when I need them. As time passes it gets easier. I just need to get through the next 2 weeks and I'll have done all the firsts without him
:j
Right flying wise I've erm,.......stacked the dirty dishes, helped DD pack as she's going away tomorrow until Sunday, tided my desk 3 times todayand as important as my assignment is that needs to be in tomorrow I'm going to have to go to bed in a minute as I'm just too tired!
We're off to Wigan tomorrow to sort out some bits I need to get my head around to do with buses and where places are. Was saving it for tomorrow as I knew I had to take DD up anyway this weekEx has now informed me he'll be finishing work no later than 3..so its a "lunch in Wigan" job then considering how late we've been sleeping in this week

Say a little prayer for me y'all, as I have the inlaws (plus yappy little mutt) for a week.
Anyone who has seen previous whingy threads of mine know they come to stay quite a lot, for one reason or another, and our views on housekeeping differ somewhat.
Let's say I'm more of a Monica to their Joey.
MIL has been known to complain on previous stays that my post-tea time cleaning made it difficult for her to relax.
Sadly my indulgent desire to hold down a FT job AND have a clean house doesn't leave me time rich when scheduling my dusting, or, more simply, if you don't like it, stay in a hotel, or muck in for the greater good.DEBT FREE! Sep '08/£9,800 in Oct '06 :beer:0 -
Apologies Pigpen, I was maligning you
... don't know how I got the impression you might be down the pub :rotfl: :rotfl: hope the crisis has past? Can we help? Or listen to your rant?
Actually I have, according to Triker, done a months worth of drama in one day!!
I never go to the pub before 10pm (unless watching rugby or for food)
The crisis is ongoing but will sort in the long term, I don't think you can help but thank you for offering and I don't need to rant.. I am a calm rational mature human adult and I CAN be reasonable, t..t...t...... pleasant in the face of adversity and I will NOT scrape to the level of the scrotes on this planet..
Thank you in hugeness to Heather for GF's package.. she was really grateful, especially for the wipes after Jacob pooped down his leg! lol... he went home wrapped in the yellow blankie! AND I being of utter meanness.. plonked Jacob straight in hubby's arms.. suckered!! lol.. never fails.. it was cute actually.. he was laid in hubbys arms looking up at him like he was someone really special... like only a new baby can..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Welcome, always happy
Just a quick post to say that I'm without a computer for a while, so not sure when I'll get back on again. Hopefully by the end of the month as I'll have accounts to do by then!!
I'll try and check in on the kids computers, but can't guarantee it.
Cheers everyoneIf there is to be any peace, it will come through being, not having - Henry MillerM.A.C.A.W Member . . Wannabe Flybaby0 -
Morning all
DenizeNZ - hope you get your computer sorted soon
Steaming my head with a couple of drop of olbas oil in the water before I went to bed seems to at least have helped me sleep for most of the night though I'm bunged up again now. I'm going to have a really hot bath and then steam again before doing the work thing.
Have a great day ladies. I will try and do some more kick plate and the bathroom when I get homeI am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Hello everyone
Please can I join in, pigpen? Tried once before, but it all went pear-shaped!Need the incentive of a thread like this to get a grip. Going to print out the weekly list, so I know where I am in case I can't get on the pc - teenage son has a tendency to monopolise it. :rotfl:
Window cleaner came yesterday, so even if I achieve nothing else today I'm going to clean ALL the windows inside.
Trying hard to dejunk house - dad died before Christmas & mum's still going through paperwork, etc - has scared us all into wanting to be properly organised! Also want to get some nice things for house, but no point 'til house in a better condition - DH may regret house being tidier if I end up spending more on things!
Sorry to waffle - let you know later how I get on today.

morning :hello:
i had a much better night (still not uninterupted but much better) - and dd came at 6.10 so a slight improvement. ds is still asleep
he was so cute ystd before bedtime, he without being told tidied the whole playroom, sweeped someone up (i was not allowed to look), looked for both their slippers and put them in the place ready for the morning and put dd's shoes away - he was ever so proud of himself when i gave him a huge cuddle(he's 4.5!)
i've got 2 more viewings for today so i've got the whole house to make 'representable' - luckily everything is quite tidy so most just needs a wipe and 'staging'
i've already arranged for the kids to go to a neighbour in the evening -they love it and it gives me some time to concentrate!
sexymouse i do hope they 'allow' you to finish your course!!! fingers crossed
flyflow the story about your ds made me laugh and remember a tshirt slogan dh told me the other day 'did you know i suffer from attention defi .... ooooooh shiny!!'
i REALLY need to get that - that's exactly him!!!!
so now every time he gets ... ehm, ... distracted i ask him if he's seen something shiny :rotfl:
