I agree but it would be impossible at the moment for either of us to go out to work, hence why I had to leave last year.

What sort of "work" would people find acceptable for a family where 1 person is solely reliable on another 24/7.

Elaina, whilst your situation means you cannot work at present and no one would deny someone in your shoes benefits to look after your family, I see you have 2 children and are pregnant again?, so if no one in your family is working how do you envisage paying and providing for your new arrival?

I don't mean to be rude but I am married with 2 children and both me and my husband are fortunate to have always been in work and our life circumstances mean we are physically capable of work and not have to rely on benefits. I would love to have another child but cannot afford to do so without seriously affecting our standard of living

My 2 children are 6 and 4 and I had been working for the last 3 years, during this time I had lost several babies, but something in me had said to keep trying. At the begining of last year I became quite ill and was in and out of hospital for the first 4 months. I beleived that me being ill was the reason for me losing the babies.
It wasn't until the summer months that my husbands illness became worse, but I still tried to work to bring in the money. It wasn't until late summer when I became pregnant that I realised I had to look after him as he was not going to get better.

It is very difficult looking after 2 children while being a carer but I manage. My husband actually enjoys looking after the kids as well now as he couldn't before but it keeps him active.
I know that we will not be able to afford any more either. I look forward to the day when hubby is well enough for either or both of us to work again. It's tight money wise but as a family we are very happy and thats important to us.
I used to suffer from lack of motivation.... now I just can't be arsed.

What's all this rubbish about me saying that people are "not allowed to have a different point of view"????

What a load of rot - anyone can post anything they like but if it's a pathetic attempt to just heckle for the sake of heckling like 'nyar, your link is two months old' then they should expect it to be ridiculed.

You hecklers like dishing it out but you can't take it when someone highlights your childish behaviour.

I don't really want to get involved in whatever !!!!!! is arguing about this time , but felt I couldn't really let his statement here pass without comment because it's blatantly false. Here is one example of him not wanting people to post a different point of view from his:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1488895

On that thread, !!!!!! posted an article that he decided suggested that there is not a housing crisis. I pointed out a counter argument from Shelter, who stated that there was indeed a housing crisis. !!!!!! ranted on about how he's not allowed to post anything on the forum anymore without people contradicting him. I pointed out that this is a discussion forum and as such we, erm, discuss things. No one else dared post anything on that thread after !!!!!! had spat out his dummy and so the discussion ended before it really began.

it's as if you can't post something in response to his lecture.
it's either what he says or you question it he claims you're picking on him.
he did it the other day with a tirade at you for letting people know how your investments were doing
